Burma, officially the Republic of Burma, is a nation located in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by China and Tibet to the north, Bhutan and India to the west, and Siam and Philippine Indochina to the east. It is known to be one of the most turbulent and violence-wracked nations in the world, with the Burmese Civil War having begun forty-nine years ago, in 1948, and as a result, has remained neutral in all conflicts not domestic in nature since, despite the fact that Philippine troops reached the Burmese border shortly after the end of the Second Indochina War, in early 1971.
