The Byzantine Republic, also known as Byzantium, is a confederation located in Europe and the Middle East.

It emerged from the Byzantine Empire in the aftermaths of the 1919 Spring Revolution.

The confederation is divided in two republics: Greece and Turkey.

The Republic was proclaimed on April 12 1919, by Greek leader Eleftherios Venizelos.

The Constitution was ratified by the Congress on May 10, 1922. Venizelos was elected as President of the Confederacy in October.

The country modernized and developed.

The 70’s and the 80’s were considered as the Golden Era economically and politically.

The current constitution was ratified by the Congress in 1990. It gave more power to the confederate government and its president.

The turn of the 2000’s showed an era of growth of the sector of technology and internet in the country.

Little affected by the 2008 financial crisis, the country is now a modern republic fully developed.

The 2010’s saw a progress of renewable energies.
