CHAB-DT , virtual and digital VHF channel 8 is a Citytv station licensed to Moose Jaw and also serving Regina . It was a former rebroadcaster for CBKT-DT from 1969 until 2012, when it became a Global station. It converted to digital in 2015 and flipped to Citytv, due to high penetration of CFRE-DT from Regina to Moose Jaw. Both channels share coverage to both cities, along with a TVA transmitter CFNS-10, and the Bell-owned CKCK (CTV) and CKMJ (Noovo) which are licensed all to Moose Jaw, except for the Regina-licensed CKCK. It is one of two Citytv affiliates that were part of Global, the other one is CKVU-DT in Vancouver, which was a Global station from 1997-2001. It is the oldest station in the network as it was launched 13 years before CITY-TV came on the air in 1972.

Transmitters[]

On September 30th 2020, Rodgers announced that it will add transmitters to four Saskatchewan cities. They will be in Swift Current, Yorkton, Prince Albert, and Lloydminster. The former two will repeat CHAB-DT, while Prince Albert will repeat CKST of Saskatoon. 5 days later, the CRTC approved the decision, with airing to start on December 5th. Plans for a Lloydminster translator were cut short due to outgoing Global affiliate CKSA joined Citytv in December 2021.
