CKCK, Virtual channel 2 (Digital VHF channel 8) is a CTV owned-and-operated station licensed to Regina, Saskatchewan.

History[]

CKCK-TV first signed on the air in July 28, 1954. It was the first privately-owned television station in Western Canada, as well as the first one in Saskatchewan. At the day of sign-on, like all stations at the time, it was a CBC affiliate. A short time later, it was picked up secondary CBS affiliation.

Transmitters[]

From 1962 to January 1, 2021, CKMJ-TV operated as a CKCK rebroadcaster when CHAB dropped CBC affiliation for CTV. By 1969, both stations swapped affiliations. On the second date mentioned, it converted into digital and became a Noovo station. Noovo was bought by Bell Media in the previous year as V.

In 2012, budget cuts made the CBC close down many repeaters such repeaters, Global’s ownerShaw bought rebroadcasters from CBKT, including CHAB/CBKT-1 and CJFB/CBKT-4, While Rogers, owner of Citytv received CBKT-3. The rest of the non-CBKST rebroadcasters were transferred to Bell Media.
