CKOS-DT, virtual channel 5 (digital UHF channel 23) is a Global owned-and-operated station located in Yorkton, Sask. It was a former CBC station from 1958 until 2012, where it was a private affiliate until 2002. From there it was a rebroadcaster for CBKT until 2012, when it was bought to Shaw Communications, and became a Global O&O. It is so far the only TV station in Yorkton that broadcasts in digital, due to former sister station CICC-DT having not signed on to digital yet.
Transmitters[]
In 2016, the CRTC approved to convert all of CKOS-DT’s transmitters into digital. They air Global on ##.1 and CTV on ##.2 since CTV shutdown their own rebroadcasters for CICC.
