California, officially known as the Republic of California (Republikken Californien), is a sovereign nation located along the Pacific coast. California is a unitary state that is comprised of 7 semi-autonomous regions which are bordered by Alaaska to the north, Louisiana to the east, and Mexico to the southeast.
California was originally colonized by Denmark in the late 1500's. The first settlement was Englestad. California was the third colony of Denmark to declare independence, after Guyana and Kuba. These three nations sparked the downfall of the Scandinavian Empire.
California is a melting pot of cultures from around the globe. Danes and Swedes make up the largest demographic, with Indians, Germans, and the French making up the largest minorities.
