As we all know in our time line, the Iran hostage crisis, took place in November fourth 1979 government supported militants held fifty three Americans hostage not only violating a U.N. agreement but giving the world knowledge that the country supported terrorism. The presidency of James Earl Carter Junior, was moderately unheard of everyone in the United States knew that this would be a defining moment in his presidency. He began Operation Eagle Claw, an attempt to rescue those held hostage, every preparation was made and the plan seemed brilliant but one factor was overlooked. Our helicopters and jets where not designed for desert combat, this caused the systems to malfunction and our aircraft crashed, the mission was considered a critical failure. But what if Jimmy Carter didn't forgo installing systems for desert warfare and what if the military operation was successful and Carters presidency was more popular.
