Alternative History

The Canadian Allaince (French: Alliance Canadienne) is a political grouping that currently commands a majority of the National Assembly of Canada. Generally centrist to center-right, it includes the center-right Democratic Union, the center-left The Centre, the liberal-conservative New Liberals, the agrarian-populist Party of Regions, and enjoys the support of a caucus of Independents from seats guaranteed to Canada Natives. The leader of the Canadian Alliance is Gaspard Laurent, President of the Democratic Union and Prime Minister of Canada, and the deputy leader is Herve Richaud, President of The Centre, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Canadian Alliance was formed as a joint ticket heading in to the 2017 elections during the collapse of the post-independence 2013-2017 Canadian Unity Government, where it won a landslide. It currently holds 217 of 350 seats in the National Assembly and 21 of 35 seats in the Senate of Canada.
