A Short History of Cappadocia[]

Cappaocia was home to the site of an old, but obscure Empire in history. The Hittite Empire, a know rival to the Babylonians and Egyptians, was not only the antagonist in the historical narratives of pharaohs. They were conquerors and deserved the same recognition as the other great Empires and Civilizations which had fallen under the Roman Empires wide expanse. This proud heritage of these people made them demand to be made a Senatorial Province like the Provinces of Greccia, Aegyptus, Assyria and Babylonia. Cappadocia was not the most developed of the Provinces, but it did have potential and was rising quickly in that region. Cappadocia was home to some of the richest mines with deposits in several important minerals. Its location on the Pontus Euxenos (Black Sea) and its proximity to the Pontus Hyrcania (Caspian Sea) were important strategically for the military which was still very central to the economic activity there.
