The Cardiff Contingency was a plan outlined by the United States Defense Department during the English Anarchy to fortify American-held English territory in the event of London falling into the control of the English Workers Army or the French. The contingency plan called for the formation of an American-occupied state in Wales and central England with a capital in Cardiff, and to fortify the borders of this new state against French aggression. The existence of the Cardiff Contingency also provided for an all-out assault against the French forces in southern England and on the outskirts of London should tensions continue.
