In the Russian Empire, Grand Dukes/Duchesses and Grand Princes/Princesses are the highest rank of nobility. They rule territories known as Grand Duchies and Grand Principalities (Russian: Великое княжество, Velikoye knyazhestvo), which have the same level of administrative power.
They are both Dukes/Duchesses, and Princes/Princesses, to which outside of the Romanovs, the former is not a common title. Grand Dukes/Duchess and Dukes/Duchesses are normally reserved for Romanovs that are not the Autocrat.
