The Caucasus (Armenian: Կովկաս; Azerbaijani: Qafqaz; Georgian: კავკასია) officially known as the Union of Caucasian Socialist Republics (USCR) (Armenian: Կովկասյան Սոցիալիստական ​​Հանրապետությունների Միություն; Azerbaijani: Qafqaz Sosialist Respublikaları İttifaqı; Georgian: კავკასიის სოციალისტური რესპუბლიკების კავშირი) is a socialist nation in Eurasia, It borders Soviet Union, Rhomania and Persia.

Etymology[]

Caucasus derives from Croucasis, which supposedly means 'shimmering with snow'. German linguist Paul Kretschmer notes that the Latvian word kruvesis also means 'frozen mud'.

Prehistory[]

The territory of the Caucasus region was inhabited by Homo erectus since the Paleolithic Era, and in 1986, early Homini fossils dating back approximately 1.8 million years were found in the Dmanisi archaeological site in Caucasus. It's currently the most popular archaeological site there.

Antiquity[]

Kura–Araxes culture from about 4000 BC until about 2000 BC enveloped a vast area approximately 1,000 km by 500 km, and mostly encompassed, on modern-day territories, the Southern Caucasus (except western Georgia), northwestern Iran, the northeastern Caucasus, eastern Turkey, and as far as Syria.

Modern Era[]

Up to and including the early 19th century, most of the Southern Caucasus and southern Dagestan all formed part of the Persian Empire. In 1813 and 1828 by the Treaty of Gulistan and the Treaty of Turkmenchay respectively, the Persians were forced to irrevocably cede the Southern Caucasus and Dagestan to Imperial Russia.

The Caucasus functions as a highly centralized, one-party totalitarian hereditary dictatorship.

Besarion Evgenis Dzhugashvili is the current leader of Caucasus since 2016. he is the general secretary of the Free Workers Party of Caucasus, His great-grandfather Ioseb Dzhugashvili, the founder and leader of Caucasus until his death in 1947, dying from a assasination, while his grandfather Iakob Iosebis succeeded him, died in 1990 from kidney failure, his father Evgeni Iakobis Dzhugashvili also succeeded him, and also died from natural causes in 2016.
