If you have studied history before, you might have asked yourself what if this or that changed. That is what this timeline is about...

Ceibos, Tulips, & Revolution features numerous Points of Divergences (PoDs). Including the United States never becoming a global superpower, instead Argentina rises to that status. Other PoDs include Prussia failing to unify Germany, Sardinia failing to unify Italy, the persistence of city-states as a common political structure, the Great War beginning in 1936, and many others.

Ceibos, Tulips, & Revolution is an open collaborative ongoing project, anyone can contribute, suggest ideas, as long as the rules are followed.

This ATL covers everything from 1300 up to the present world situation.

If you would like to contribute to this ATL in any way, write your ideas on my If you do want to edit or an addition, make sure to message me on my talk page, and I will try to answer as fast as I can, if you do create a page, make sure that it is set under the "Proposals (Ceibos, Tulips, & Revolution)" category, and your username under "Contributor".

The 14th Century[]

The 15th Century[]

  • 1463: Mahmud bin Küchük, the khan of the Golden Horde, begins to reunite the Mongol Empire.
  • 1496: Charles VIII of France defeats the League of Venice during the Italian War of 1494–1495, leading to Naples and Florence being captured by France, making himself king of Naples, and Louis II de la Trémoille king of Florence.
  • 1499: Vasco da Gama is assassinated, after returning to Portugal, from India.
  • 1500: Bartolomeu Dias does not die in a storm of the Cape of Storms, instead living until 1519.

The 16th Century[]

  • 1502: The Mamluks capture the Karamanids, effectively becoming the strongest nation in Anatolia.
  • 1503: Leonardo da Vinci dies while painting the Mona Lisa, leading to the painting being unfinished.
  • 1527: Hungary chose Casimir IV Jagiellon as their next king, making his empire the biggest in Europe at the time.
  • 1531:
    • Henry VIII of England dies earlier than OTL. His only daughter Mary becomes the next queen.
    • Mary I of England dies only after a few months, leading to her aunt, Mary Tudor, Queen of France to become the next queen of England.
  • 1533: Mary II of England dies, her daughter, under the name Mary III, would become the next queen of England.
  • 1540: Following the Siege of Constantinople, and it's capture by the Mamluks; the Byzantine Empire officially comes to an end.
  • 1543: Henry II of France would marry Maria of Austria, leading to a union of Spain, France, and Austria.
  • 1559: Mary III of England dies, her daughter Jane Grey becomes the next queen of England.
  • 1560: The Kalmar Union dissolves, however one of its colonies in Africa establishes independence as the micronation of Caapekoost.
  • 1564: Jane of England dies, her sister Katherine becomes the next queen of England, and the queen of Scotland.
  • 1568: Katherine dies, her son George becomes the next king of England, and the king of Scotland.
  • 1569: Poland, Lithuania, and Hungary would unite forming the Polish-Lithuanian-Hungarian Comonwealth.

The 17th Century[]

  • 1612: Edward VI of England and Scotland dies after a 44 year long reign, his son William Seymour becomes the next king of England, and the king of Scotland, as William III or II.
  • 1636: The English Revolution begins due to enlightenment ideas, absolutism, and food shortages.
  • 1639:
    • The Commonwealth of England is established, replacing the monarchy, with Oliver Cromwell as its first Lord Protector.
  • 1640:
    • William III is executed.
    • The Twenty Year War begins after clashes rise with France, and other European powers.
  • 1644: The Qing Dynasty is destroyed, and the Ming dynasty never collapses, instead continuing until the 1900s.
  • 1648: The Sovereign Military Order of Malta establishes its colony in New Comino (OTL Jamaica).
  • 1659: With the removal of Richard Cromwell from power, and the ending of the Commonwealth of England, the Twenty Year War, comes to an end. Chosen by the victors, Robert Bruce, 1st Earl of Ailesbury becomes the next king of England, and the king of Scotland, as William IV.
  • 1666: The Qing Dynasty is destroyed, and the Ming dynasty never collapses, instead continuing until the 19th century.
  • 1685: William IV dies, his son Thomas Bruce becomes the next king of England.
  • 1692: The Salem witch trials come to an end following intervention by colonial authorities due to the deaths of three people.
  • 1700: The Kingdom of Great Britain is established, following the unification of the England, and Scotland.

The 18th Century[]

  • 1701: Due to the Great Turkish War weakening the Ottoman Empire, the Russo-Ottoman Wars come to an end, as a Russian victory, further weakening the Ottoman Empire.
  • 1741: Henry IX dies after an fifty-six year reign, his son, Charles Bruce becomes the next British monarch.
  • 1747: Charles I of Great Britain dies, his nephew, George becomes the next British king.
  • 1760: The first Dutch port is founded in Australia, beginning Dutch colonization in Oceania.
  • 1761: France begins to expand its influence in India, due to not being weakened as much from the Seven Years War, beginning the Indian War, with England.
  • 1771:
    • Frederick the Great dies after a thirty-one year reign, his younger brother Henry becomes the next king of Prussia.
  • 1780: Túpac Amaru II begins a rebellion in Peru, to remove the Spanish control there.
  • 1781: The American Revolutionary War begins between the fourteen colonies and the United Kingdom.
  • 1787: The United States of America is established following the American Revolutionar becoming the first nation in America.
  • 1789: The French Revolution begins, and the French First Republic is established in its place.
  • 1790: George I of Great Britain dies after an fifty-three year reign, his daughter, Elizabeth becomes the first British queen in over 200 years.
  • 1791: Due to the balance of power being shifted during the Isllaqakunasuyu War of Independence, Argentina declares independence officially beginning the American wars of independence.
  • 1794:
    • The first United States presidential election is held, with Thomas Paine becoming the first President.
    • The first United States parliamentary election is held a month later, with Alexander Hamilton becoming the first President.

The 19th Century[]

  • 1801: Just like Argentina, a decade earlier, Mexico too declares independence from Spain, beginning the Mexican War of Independence.
  • 1802: Henry I of Prussia dies, his grandson Frederick William becomes the next king of Prussia.
  • 1804: Napoleon becomes Emperor of France, beginning the Napoleonic Wars.
  • 1809: Mexico's independence is confirmed, following eight years of fighting.
  • 1819: The first elections are held in Mexico, with Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla becoming the first president.
  • 1822: Settlers in Louisiana declare independence and begin a war with Britain, with help from the United States, beginning the Second Anglo-American War.
  • 1823: With less British funding in Australie, it becomes harder for Britain to conquer the continent, starting the Australian Indigenous War.
  • 1824: Colombia implements a federal government against Simón Bolívar's wishes, leading to him resigning his role as president and instead continuing to fight to establish the state of Bolivia.
  • 1825:
    • Simón Bolívar is captured and killed by Isllaqakunasuyu rebels.
    • Wertnek Nganayi is established in Australie between the Indigenous people to fight Britain.
  • 1827:
    • The Second Anglo-American War ends in an American victory and Louisiana becomes independent.
    • Elizabeth I dies after a thirty-seven year reign, her grandson, George becomes the next British monarch.
  • 1828: Maryland-on-Africa becomes independent.
  • 1829: Brazil is established following the Brazilian Compromise of 1829.
  • 1830: Louisiana joins the United States.
  • 1831: Bolivia is partitioned between Peru and Argentina.
  • 1837:
    • The Revolutions of 1837 begin following an economic recession.
    • Frederick William II of Prussia abdicates during the Revolutions of 1837, his son Frederick William becomes the next king of Prussia.
    • The United States declares war on Mexico, following rising tensions.
  • 1839:
    • The Revolutions of 1837 end as mostly a revolutionary victory, leading to the collapse of the Confederation of Brazil into Equador, Brazil, and Bahia in South America, and Serbia, Greece, Dalmatia, Rome and the United Principalities in Europe.
    • The Riograndese Republic, and the Catarinense Republic break off from Brazil, and continue fighting.
  • 1840: The Scott-Pérez de Castro Treaty is signed between the United States and Mexico, ending the Mexican-American War as a American victory.
  • 1841: Pitjantjatjara breaks from Wertnek Nganayi establishing its own nation.
  • 1845: Riogrande, and Catarina win their independence, with Giuseppe Garibaldi becoming the first president of the latter.
  • 1853: Just like Pitjantjatjara the Eyre Confederacy/Simpson is established after breaking away from Wertnek Nganayi.
  • 1861: Frederick William III of Prussia dies, his brother William II of Prussia becomes the next king of Prussia.
  • 1866: Prussia is defeated by Austria during the Austro-Prussian War, leading to Austria uniting Germany, and establishing itself as Germany.
  • 1868: Le Bris' glider Albatros II is a massive success for the aviation industry, leading to a rise of investment.
  • 1880: William II of Prussia dies, his brother Prince Charles becomes the next king of Prussia.
  • 1882: The State Duma is established in Russia, leading to the first free election being established.
  • 1883:
    • The American Civil War begins, between the northern states and the southern states.
    • Frederick III of Prussia dies, his son Prince Friedrich Karl becomes the next king of Prussia.
    • Frederick IV of Prussia dies, his son Frederick V of Prussia becomes the next king of Prussia, marking the second Years of the three monarchs.
  • 1884: George II dies after a fifty-three year reign, his son, William Douglas becomes the next British monarch.
  • 1888: The American Civil War comes to and end as a Northern victory, with slavery being abolished by law.
  • 1889: Rumelia is established as a compromise, following the Balkan War.
  • 1891: France gives the Statue of Hope to Argentina for their 100 year anniversary of independence.
  • 1893: Otto Lilienthal's Neues Fluggerät becomes the first ever airplane ever developed.
  • 1897: The Second Saudi–Rashidi War ends as a Ha'il victory, leading to the collapse of the Saudi nation, and making Jabal Shammar the strongest nation in Arabia.

The 20th Century[]

  • 1900: The Colonization Age ends in Africa, and the borders had been agreed. With France taking Central Africa, linking Gabon to Somalia, the United Kingdom taking Egypt and Southern Africa, Portugal getting Angola, and Mozambique, The Netherlands gaining Goudenkust.
  • 1914: William V dies , his son, Edward Henry becomes the next British monarch.
  • 1920: Following naval skirmishes between the United Kingdom, and Kingdom of France, the Imperial War begins, also known as World War Zero.
  • 1924: The Imperial War comes to and end, as a Quadruple Power victory.
  • 1930:
    • The Federation of the Danube is established, following a coup by Engelbert Dollfuss.
    • Failed French Coup by fascists, the government increases its hold, effectively establishing a militaristic dictatoship.
  • 1931: Frederick V of Prussia dies after a forty-eight, his only surviving son Frederick VI of Prussia becomes the next king of Prussia.
  • 1933: Nicholas II dies at 65, his son, Alexei becomes the next Emperor of Russia, beginning an era of liberalization, and the end of the absolute rule in Russia.
  • 1935:
    • George III dies, his son, John George becomes the next British monarch.
    • Dzhugashvili's Immortal, a chess match between Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, and Benito Mussolini is played, in which Dzhugashvili barely wins, making him famous.
  • 1936: The Great War begins following the Assassination of Prince Leopold of Greece, on May 5th, bringing the United Kingdom, and Prussia to its aid, and the Austrian Empire, and France to Albania's aid.
  • 1941: Empire of Japan, and Korea unite forming the East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.
  • 1942: After six years of fighting the Great War comes to an end, after Russian troops enter Gyongseong, with Korea announcing an end to the war.
  • 1943: Charles de Gaulle, the first president of the new French Republic, is assassinated while visiting Nantes.
  • 1944:
    • The United States of the Ionian Islands is dissolved into Corfu and the Ionian Islands.
    • The Dirty War officially begins between Argentina, the United Kingdom, and Russia, and the United States, under the Moscow Bloc, which is still continuing.
  • 1949: Alexei II dies a suspicious death at 44, his son becomes the next emperor of Russia, leading to rising tensions between Russia and Britain.
  • 1950: Hitlerswelt is founded by a famous animator named Adolf Hitler.
  • 1951: The Marcel Plan begins in Africa, starting the damming of the Congo River.
  • 1952: King George IV would die, at age 55, his daughter, Elizabeth II becomes the next queen of Britain, becoming serving as one of the longest reigning monarchs of the United Kingdom.
  • 1956: The first Perditor-mun Bomb, Latin for "Destroyer of Worlds" is first dropped in Siberia, beginning the Neptunium Weapons Game.
  • 1959: Frederick VI of Prussia dies, his great-uncle Frederick Heinrich becomes the next and the first openly homosexual king of Prussia.
  • 1964:
    • Frederick VII of Prussia dies, his second cousin once removed Sophia becomes the next and the first queen of Prussia, following the 1961 Prussian succession act.
    • Sophia of Prussia dies just after 5 weeks as queen, her cousin Margaretha Victoria becomes the next and current queen of Prussia, marking the third and final Years of the three monarchs.
  • 1969: Lin Biao becomes the next president of China following the results of the 1969 elections. During his term, China would experience a rise in industrial advancements, leading to a rise of CO2 emissions, and the rise of sea levels.
  • 1972:
    • Ariel 7 lands on the Moon, Anthony Llewellyn, and Fernando Caldeiro become the first men to land on the surface.
    • Animator Adolf Hitler dies at the age of 83.
  • 1973: The Digitial Anthill begins in which nations try to achieve greater technological advancements to outmatch the other.
  • 1974: Spiro Agnew is impeached following his handling of the Thành Đông Incident, during the Second Indochina War.
  • 1979: The Decolonization Surge begins in Africa, with the largest surge, as over 15 nations would gain independence.
  • 1990: Lin Biao dies after a 21 year reign as President of China, with his death democracy is brought back, with the 1990 elections.
  • 1991: The Internet never enters public domain, instead it continues being used by governments, universities and other investors.
  • 1993: Minitel becomes the main producer of thepersonal computer in the world.
  • 1998: Nicholas III dies after a 49 year reign, with his son becoming the Emperor of Russia, at the age of 36. Finland gains independence from Russia.

The 21st Century[]

  • 2004: Blockbuster never began to decline due to the Internet not taking over.
  • 2017: Mozambique became independent after a 48 year long battle for independence.
  • 2019: A mutated version of Legionnaires' disease starts spreading in New Holland, eventually becoming an epidemic.
  • 2022: Elizabeth II dies, her son, Henry X becomes the next and current British monarch.
  • 2023: The World passes nine billion people.
  • 2024:
    • Nicholas III died at the age of 94; his son became the next and current Emperor of Russia.
    • Réunion gained independence and became the newest country in the world, officially putting an end to the Decolonization Surge.
