The Chinese Insurgency refers to the series of Conflicts in China in the period of 2015-2016.
It first began around November 2015 in Tibet with protestors demanding independence and waving flags of secessionist areas. As things turned violent, the Tibetans fought back against the PLA and Police. The Tibetan rebels were able to secure weapons and even hijack military vehicles. The Chinese government accuses India, Japan, and the West for covertly supporting the Tibetans of weapons, funds, and material; all which surprisingly deny.
Months later, in July 2016, the National People's Congress passed a bill restricting certain freedom laws. Political analysts state that there laws were made to annex Hong Kong into the China proper. Naturally, protesters took to the streets. However, some protesters were brutally beaten or killed by the police, causing them to fight back. While initially underarmed, some policemen defected to the rebels and were given access to high-powered weapons and heavy vehicles. This resulted in the PLA imposing a naval blockade of Hong Kong and the bridges to the mainland sealed. On September 2016, the PLAAF bombed areas of Hong Kong suspected of harboring rebels, causing worldwide condemnation. Months later, reports surfaced of ROC Special Forces providing weapons and supplies to rebels and fighting alongside with them. The PRC responded with several fly overs and naval incursions into the territorial waters of Taiwan. The new Taiwanese government saw this as an opportunity to declare independence but has not done since.
As the situation in Hong Kong turned into a stalemate, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Manchuria started uprisings against the PLA. In Xinjiang, the rebels were supported by the Kazakh government. Inner Mongolia received support from Mongolia. In one incident, Mongolian troops encountered a border clash with the PLA as they were chasing an Inner Mongolian dissident. 5 Mongolian troops were killed while the PLA suffered 8 casualties and several wounded.
In March 2017, Manchu rebels declared Shenyang their capital and renaming it to Mukden, its traditional name. Russia has since increased its military presence on the Sino-Russian border while reports surface of Chinese nuclear weapons being stationed in the Heliongjiang province. In Xinjiang, their is the possibility of ISIS or Taliban infiltrating the province, causing Chinese troops to make incursions into the Vakan corridor of the China-Afghanistan border.
