The Chinese War or the First Chinese War was an armed conflict on West and East China, East China was led by Mao Zedong in Beijing, and West China led by Zhang Qun in Changchun; both claimed to be the sole legitimate government of all of China and engaged in border clashes as internal unrest was fomented by communist groups in the south.
