The North Caucasus, or Ciscaucasia, is a country in Eastern Europe. It is located on the northern part of the Caucasus region, which separates Europe and Asia. Ciscaucasia is bordered by the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea to the west, the Caspian Sea to the east, and the Caucasus Mountains to the south. The country shares land borders with Maeotia and Khazaria to the North and Georgia and Azerbaijan to the South. Located in the southern part of the region, it is home to Mount Elbrus is the tallest peak in Europe. Anji is the most populous city, while Dzhokhar is the Capital.
