Not to be confused with the other Coatlaca Union which arose from the Inuit Empire in 1917 from A Different Story of Civilization! 3rd edition. • Anahuacan Revolution (February 9-October 1, 1917)
October 1, 1917

The Coatlaca Union (Nahuatl: Coatlaca Tlacetīliztli), formally known as the Union of Coatlaca Socialist Republics (Nahuatl: Coatlaca Sosyalistekah Tlahtohcayotl Tlatocayotl), was a downright huge Soviet-esque union that lasted from its establishment by the Yaotls on October 1, 1917 during the short-lived Anahuacan Revolution of that same year to its dissolution on [TBD later date in December] 1991 into Anahuac, the Anishinaabe Confederacy, the Cherokee Nation, Chinookriga, Comancheria, Cuba, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Ichirouganaim (OTL: Barbados), Kalinagoland, Molossia, the Navajo(lander) Republic, Pawneeland, Puebloland, Shoshoneland, Siouxland, Tainoland, Tȟašúŋke Oyate (th-ah-sh-oon-kay oh-yah-teh), Tlaxcala, Velkářa (OTL: Texas), and last but not least, the Zapotec Kingdom. Prior to its eventual dissolution, the Coatlaca Union spanned almost all of Central America (minus Panama, pretty much the entire Caribbean except for Cuba, Kalinagoland, and Tainoland, and the nearby Mayapan League) and a huge chunk of western North America, causing it to be the 3rd-largest country in the world by size from 1922 to 1991 and only being outsized by Canada and [TBD world's largest nation ITTL]. As a successor state to the Aztec Empire, the Coatlaca Union was nominally organized as a federal union of nineteen national republics and thirteen CASRs, the largest and most populous of which was the Anahuacan CFSR; in practice both its government and economy were highly centralized until its final years. It was the world's fifth-most populous country and North America's second-most populous country behind only Canada. As a one-party state governed by the Communist Party of the Coatlaca Union, it was a flagship communist state. Its capital as well its largest city and sole ruler was Tenochtitlan - other highly urbanized centers were Texcoco, Iiksoyiniyi, Sioux City, and Onondaga.

Political and military tensions increased during the Cold War (1947-1991) due to the huge Coatlaca Union sharing direct land borders with Canada, the United States, Panama, the Mayapan League, and [TBD other sovereign nation-states], especially within the realm of media, though a fourth World War remains entirely speculative even today. In fact, the Coatlaca Union was so large that it even shared maritime borders with most Caribbean nations prior to its dissolution in late December 1991, and it even impacted the realm of media, including the internet, so immeasurably that such changes of the Coatlaca Union's cannot be erased. The world would never be the same again.

In recent years, the Coatlaca Union itself has become a popular subject of meme culture, especially within other leftist countries like Guatemala, Russia, and the People's Republic of Tawantinsuyu amidst their mainly strict censorship rules.

The Coatlaca Union was formed by the Yaotls on October 1, 1917 during the short-lived Anahuacan Revolution of that same year, resulting in the fall of the nearly 600-year-old[1] Aztec Empire that had been founded in early March 1325 AD.
