Colombia, officially the Empire of Colombia (Spanish: Imperio de Colombia), is a transcontinental sovereign state, having territory in both North and South America. Spanning over 11 million square kilometers, it is the second largest country in the world by area after Russia. Its population of more than 420 million people makes it the third largest by population. Colombia borders the USA to the north, and Uruguay, Brazil and Guyana to the east.

The capital of the Colombian Empire is Santa Rosa. Colombia's largest city is Mexico City.

Colombia was established during the Colombian War of Independence when massive revolts against Spanish colonial authority erupted. Early on in the revolts, José de Iturrigaray, who was Viceroy of New Spain, offered the Colombian imperial crown to Infante Francisco de Paula, youngest brother of Spanish King Ferdinand VII. Francisco accepted and became emperor as well as the figure around which both conservative and liberal figures could gather after he spread out the Ten Guaranties, ten basic liberal principles, which meant to unite all factions. A constitution was written and by 1821, the territories of New Spain were under the control of Colombia.

After initial difficulties and lack of infrastructure, which was later developed, Colombia swiftly arose to become one of the dominant countries in the world, its wealth almost unmatched globally. In the aftermath of WWII, it emerged as one of the three global superpowers alongside the US and the USSR.

Colombia is a federal parliamentary representative democracy under a constitutional monarchy. The emperor is Fernando II as of 2014 and the Prime Minister, who is the head of government, is Pedro Castillo.

Colombia is widely considered a global superpower due to its strong economy, military and influence throughout the globe.
