Bengal is seen as gateway to the Far East, and it controls trade from the Indian Ocean to Southeast Asia and beyond. Any nation may sign this compact, provided it has met the Bengali Crown or any of its vassals.
Compact Regulations[]
For nations to partake in the benefits of this compact, they must abide by all of the following.
- Not to declare war on the Sultanate of Bengal or any of its vassals.
- The right of the Sultanate of Bengal to amend these terms at any time without consultation temporarily, if required by some emergency.
- The recognition of the rights of other signatories.
- The prohibition the movement of large military forces through the waters of the Sultanate of Bengal and its vassals. Exceptions can be provided with express permission from the Sultan.
- Not to ask for extradition for any criminal caught in Bengali lands or the lands of its vassals, and agreeing to let the Bengali authorities decide their fate.
- A tariff system, which is as follows:
- Tier I: 2.5% (Allies of the Sultanate of Bengal [Swahili Sultanate, Bahmani Sultanate, Delhi Sultanate, China, and their vassals])
- Tier II: 4% (Nations with close relations to the Sultanate of Bengal [Gurkani Sultanate, Abassid Caliphate, and their vassals])
- Tier III: 5% (All other signatories)
- Tier IV: 7.5% (Non-signatories)
- Tier V: 10% (Enemies of the Sultanate of Bengal [Majapahit])
