The Congress of Belgrad, is a treaty attending by all the major colonizing powers in Europe as of 1873 regarding the division of spheres of influence and direct colonial control in Africa. It was attended by Belka, France, Iberia, Burgundy, Ostdeutchland, Britain, Russia, and Scandinavia (more to come) The Purpose of this conference is to codify and solidify future colonial gains and spheres of influence to the European powers in their conquest of Africa. With the riches and resources of the continent at last open to our peoples, the European nations must take it upon themselves to bring civilization to these poor peoples as well as bring the modern age to this untamed frontier of the world

Regarding African territorial Claims[]

Post map suggestions and alteration here. This is also the portion to discuss grievances and attempt to rectify claims to a region on the African colonial map.

Treaty of Belgrad

Seeing as Iberia has no claims outside of West Africa, it would prefer a split more along the lines of this map:

Iberian Belgrade Proposal-0
    • Egypt rejects the proposal, seeing as how they lose land they rightfully own, nor have they legally or officially gained independence to that specific peace of land seen between Ethiopia and the proposed Egypt border. -Colgan dog (talk) 03:04, May 17, 2018 (UTC)
    • Just an outdated map, Colgan. Calm yourself, I fixed it. -Steph

Interference[]

  • Political interference in another power's colonial empires is forbidden.
  • Arming insurgents and rebels is forbidden.
  • The Colonial acquisitions will act as closed markets to the mother country.
  • Blocking rivers and waterways that are shared between colonies of different powers is expressly forbidden.

War over claims[]

  • If you are pressing a claim you may war for it. We are not barring war.
  • The wars must remain limited to the African regions they take place in.
  • Colonial wars which return to Europe in a meaningful fashion will as a result be intervened in by other members of the congress to prevent their explosion out of control.
