The Cuban Revolution (Spanish: Revolución Cubana), also known as the Tabaco War (Spanish: Guerra del Tabaco) was a military conflict between political factions in Cuba with the main objective of overthrowing the dictator Fulgencio Batista and the transformation of the island into a socialist state. Under the administration of Richard Nixon, the army of the United States went on an invasion of Cuba to stop it from falling into communist influence. The conflict started in 1953 after an attack on the military as a response of Fulgencio Batista becoming a US-backed dictator.

The named "26th of July Movement" slowly defeated the national Cuban Army. Before the total collapse of the Batista Regime, the United States decided to intervene with a military invasion in the northeastern parts of the island.
