The Cygnian Federal Police (CFP) is the federal police agency of the United Cygnian States. Operating under the jurisdiction of the Cygnian Ministry of Justice, the CFP is concurrently a member of the Cygnian Intelligence Community and reports to both the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence. The CFP is charged with the responsibility of enforcing Cygnian federal criminal law and to protect federal-government and national interests from crime in Cygnia and overseas. The CFP has jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes as a result.
The CFP traces its history back to the Imperial Police Force formed in 1917 by the Hughes Government. In 1979, the Imperial Police Force was merged with Federal Capital Police and the Federal Bureau for Narcotics to form the CFP.
The Cygnian Federal Police is led by the Commissioner of the Cygnian Federal Police, currently Andrew Colvin. The CFP is headquartered in the William M. Hughes Building, located in Northam, TS.
