The Party of Democratic Nationalists (Russian: Партия Демократических Националисты, Partiya Demokraticheskikh Natsionalisty) or the Democratic Nationalists are a political party in Russia.
Considered progressive-conservative, it is a splinter from the more traditional Nationalist Front, whom the founders of the Democratic Nationalists found a bit too archaic, and overtly focused on the nobility. It is also one of the parties descended from the Constitutional Democratic Party or "Kadets". Anatoly Molchanov, the party's founder amicably split with the Nationalist Front, and along with progressive-minded conservative nationalists, went to go establish the Progressive Nationalist Coalition, which would eventually become the Democratic Nationalists.
Like the Nationalist Front, the Democratic Nationalists believe in the preservation of the Tsardom, the Russian state, as well as of Eastern Orthodoxy, but also promote Islam, Buddhism and Lutheranism as having been many of the spiritual building blocs of the Russian nation, and support government and public "Heritage Funds" to support all places of spiritual significance, even those outside Eastern Orthodoxy. In addition, unlike the Nationalist Front, the Democratic Nationalists also put a pure focus and emphasis on improving the lives of Russian citizens, an ideology which has gained them much support.
Despite being fairly recent, the Democratic Nationalists have grown to become one of the most successful political parties in Russia.
