Bush Reign II(2001-present)[]

On March 28, 2001, George W. Bush, son of then CEO and Chairman George Bush, became CEO and Chairman of The Walt Disney Company. Bush had been with the company since the mid 1970s, when his father also joined. George W. Bush announced his initiative for the company: The Bush Plan. Under the plan, the Walt Disney Company expanded into computer animation without Pixar (which still has its films distributed by Disney) as well as a wider audience, such as teens and young adults.

Until late May 2005, the company's profits went down as many motion pictures and television shows were family-oriented. However, My Peoples, the biggest box office success for Disney until 2016, brought over a billion dollars at the American box office and prompted many teen and young adult films and TV shows to be made, although the company is still making family-oriented material.

In 2007, similar to New Line Cinema in OTL, Touchstone Pictures merged with Walt Disney Pictures to be a production studio. Touchstone Home Entertainment was merged with Walt Disney Home Entertainment too.

In 2011, The Walt Disney Company started a video game studio for its properties. While games featuring Disney content have been made, the company has never had an official video game developer.
