Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower (October 14, 1890 - August 28, 1969) was an American army general and politician who served as the 33rd President of the United States from 1953 to 1961. During World War II, Eisenhower was a five-star general in the United States Army and served as supreme commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe. He would also help push back and stop the North Korean Communist Forces in the Korean War and would become the one of the most famous generals in U.S History, trying with Civil War General and Former President Ulysses S. Grant.

Eisenhower has had three presidential campaigns, the first was in 1945 after President Roosevelt announced that he would not seek re-election to a third term. He would lose in the primary election to Charles Adams' Vice President Thomas E. Dewey with an delegate vote count of 521-419. He would run again for President in the 1948 Election after President Wallace announced he would not run for a second term as President, the first President to do so since Franklin Pierce in the 1840's, but would lose the RepubIican Primary again to Incumbent California Governor Earl Warren with a Delegate count of 721-673. He would try a third attempt for President after winning the Republican Nomination due to Vice-President Dewey and Governor Warren not running. He would run against Incumbent President Adlai Stevenson II who was attempting to win a second term. Eisenhower would defeat Stevenson in the 1952 Election with Electoral Vote count of 442-89 and would make him the 35th President as well as making Stevenson the first President to run and not secure a second term as President since Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1937 (who would later secure a second term due to freeing the US from the Axis Powers).

Eisenhower approved NASA in 1955, which started the Space Race with the Soviet Union. He also approved the Bay of Pigs invasion in his final months in office. He was eligible from running for a third term in 1960, and was nominated by the Republican Party to run for a third term in the 1960 Presidential Election. He would choose not to run for a third term as "The only people that support one person in power are Communists such as the people I fought in Korea and Fascits such as the people I fought in Germany and Italy during WW2, so I'd be a hypocrite and a sinner to the Lord to run for or serve a third term", and asked the Republican Committee to give the Nomination to "give the Republican Nomination to the Next Generation of Americans by nominating Vice-President Richard Nixon"
