EMBRAER is a Brazilian Aircraft manufacturing company founded in 1969. It is the largest aircraft manufacturer in both civilian and military aircraft and was privatized in 2021.
History[]
1983-1989[]
EMBRAER saw a massive hit after Doomsday, with its civilian aircraft orders instantly collapsing. Meanwhile due to supply shortages many aircraft were not built until the 1990s, most of these orders were from the Brazilian Air Force with the EMB-312 "Tucano". The company managed to stay afloat with funding from the Brazilian Government.
1990-2012[]
By 1990 the company had managed to finish most its military orders and began designing the EMB-314 "Domdano" which would be an upgraded version of the Tucano. When the Domdano came out in 1994 many countries in South and Latin America would buy this aircraft due to the aircraft not using as much fuel as jet powered aircraft but being an effective aircraft. By 2001 there were over 250 aircraft built being operated in most Latin American countries plus the Philippines. In 2003 the company had begun designing piston powered commercial aircraft, the EMB-150 would be launched in 2007 and would carry 50 passengers with a range of 1750 km, the aircraft would be widely bought in Latin America seeing around 75 aircraft built as of 2023.
2012-Present[]
In 2012 the company would acquire and reverse engineer a Douglas DC-6. This would be the base for a new aircraft called the "Embraer-210 Brasilia". The aircraft would carry around 145 passengers and have a range of 2750 km. The aircraft would see its first test flight in 2015. Airlines began ordering the new aircraft quickly with over 150 orders. This resurgence was due to the return of global trade in the 2010s and thus the price of oil and especially aircraft fuel going down to even a price lower than pre-war levels due to a lack of demand due to Doomsday. The first aircraft would be delivered to TAM Airlines in 2017. As of now there are over 53 aircraft built and 102 orders.
