Eddie Van Halen In 2018

Edward Lodewijk Van Halen (/væn ˈheɪlən/ van HAY-lən, Dutch: [ˈɛtʋɑrt ˈloːdəʋɛik fɑn ˈɦaːlə(n)]; January 26, 1955 – October 6, 2020) was an American musician and songwriter. He found success as a bassist for Jimi Hendrix's group the Jimi Hendrix Experience from 1972-1986, where he wrote a few songs for the group, with the most notable song he wrote while in the band being the non-album hit single "Jump" from 1984. Due to the success of "Jump", Hendrix would implement glam metal and hard rock into the Jimi Hendrix Experience. After the Jimi Hendrix Experience broke up for a second time due to Jimi Hendrix's worsening drug problems, Van Halen would become a solo artist.

Van Halen is widely regarded as one of the greatest guitar players in rock history, and was well known for popularizing the tapping guitar technique, allowing rapid arpeggios to be played with two hands on the fretboard.
