Alternative History
Alternative History

The Russian America timeline is open to any and all who want to join in. As the admin to the timeline, I welcome all newcomers and the ideas they bring. To keep order, I greatly request that you obey the following rules:

  1. Do not edit and/or establish your proposal to any existing page without permission from the admin and/or article caretaker.
  2. Bring any new ideas and suggestions up on the article's talk page, or the main talk page if it involves a new article idea.
  3. Do not propose/create any ideas which go against the established canon or go against the spirit of this timeline.
  4. When available, all files used should come from Wikimedia Commons (e.g., flags, coats of arms, photos) and duplication of files will not be tolerated.
  5. This timeline will not allow the creation/use of fictional people. All people must have existed in OTL.

The following does not pertain to additions or edits whose sole purpose is grammar correction (which is always welcomed) and/or site corrections (including mislabeled links and files). As an additional note, I do not take nicely to bullies or rulebreakers. As a site admin, I will take all necessary resources at my disposal if I have to. But for those who truly want to work and expand on this timeline and cooperate with others, then I welcome you and hope you all have fun.

Linking[]

Because this wiki involves alternate destinies, simply linking to the desired articles (for example, [[Mexico]]), it could pertain to any alternate history. Because of this, all pages have the name of the timeline in parentheses at the end of the article. Rather than writing out the entire name of the article, you may simply use the following link to help you out.

{{RA|"article name here"}}

By adding a vertical bar (|) after the page name, you have the ability to alter the wording of the link. You may also replace the "RA" with a "W" to link to a Wikipedia article.

As an example:

The Alaskan Democratic Federative Republic is a nation located in North America. Alaska is bordered by Borealia, Mexico, the United States, and a maritime border with the Russian Federation.
The {{RA|Alaska|Alaskan Democratic Federative Republic}} is a nation located
in {{W|North America}}. Alaska is bordered by {{RA|Borealia}}, {{RA|Mexico}},
the {{RA|United States}}, and a maritime border with the
{{RA|Russia|Russian Federation}}.

Types of Articles[]

This timeline utilizes several types of articles which should be understood by those who wish to work here.

Canon[]

Articles that are canon can simply refer to a completed article. Not necessarily finished, canon articles mark the standard for all existing and future articles.

Proposals[]

Articles can be proposed by users. All proposals are welcomed and encouraged.

Because of the growing complexity and information in the timeline, new content will NOT automatically become canon. New articles will have to be reviewed and harmonized before they can become canonized. Any proposal is to remain a proposal until such time as it has developed to become canon. Until such time, there is to be no mention of these proposed pages on any already canon pages (with the sole exception of links).

It should be noted that any proposed article will require the following template to be placed on the TOP of the page and that any proposed articles are to be brought up on the main talk page.

{{Proposal (Russian America)}}

The only two categories to be added to a proposed article are Category:Proposals and Category:Proposals (Russian America). These two categories will automatically be added by the above template. No additional categories are to be added to a proposed article until they are canonized.

Under Construction[]

An article under construction simply means that information on the article is no longer canon and requires cleaning as part of this timeline's standards. In short, do not take them at face value. Unlike proposals, articles under construction can be made mentioned in other articles, but are not to be seen as full canon for any proposal. An article will no longer be under construction once it has become canonized/harmonized once again.

It is to be noted that all articles under construction will require the following template to be placed on the TOP of the page. Any articles under construction are barred from outside edits (with the exception of grammatical and admin edits).

{{Under Construction (Russian America)}}

Stubs[]

Articles that are stubbed refer to those which are canon but lack vital work to make them complete. Stubbed articles are open for adoption and expansion. It is highly recommended that any adopters write out their ideas on the article's talk page as well.

It is to be noted that all stubbed articles will require the following template to be placed on the TOP of the page.

{{Stub (Russian America)}}

Obsolete[]

Many obsolete articles exist within this timeline. These refer to articles that are no longer part of the timeline and thereby should be ignored (not to be regarded as canon). Due in part to reference and sentimental purposes, these articles have not been deleted from the site, also in hopes that they can be resurrected in the future. Though after a certain period of time (mostly years), an obsolete article may be removed from the site altogether.

It is to be noted that all obsolete articles will require the following template to be placed on the TOP of the page.
