The House of Tutankhamun is a cadet branch of the Narmerian Dynasty currently reigning in Egypt and the two constituent Kingdoms of Cyprus and Yemen. It was founded in 1700 upon the accession of Senusret X, who was the grandson of Senusret IX through both his father and mother, who was his predecessor named Queen Twosret V.
The house of Tutankhamun once led a dramatic territorial expansion which saw Egypt extend further than even the New Kingdom, particularly during the reign of Senusret XI. It is also regarded as one of the five greatest Egyptian dynasties along with the I, IV, XII and XVIII, but keep in mind that all these families are technically the same. The current pharaoh is a direct descendant of Narmer I the Unifier, consequently being the head of the oldest extant dynasty in the world.
