England showing traditional county boundaries, the capital at Harrogate and ignoring regions, as of 1993 onwards.

England is a federal nation state taking up most of the area of Great Britain and some of the adjacent islands such as the Isles of Wight and Sheppey. It was established as a separate, entirely independent entity with its own Parliament in 1993, and consists of six regions: Mercia, East Anglia, Wessex, Northumbria, The Duchy of Lancaster and Meridia. The capital was also moved to Harrogate. The majority of the population of the British Isles lives in England. Like the other British nations. It is also a constitutional monarchy, and forms a personal union with them.

Its terrain consists mainly of low hills and plains, particularly in the south and east.
