Alternative History

Era One, lasting from 387 BC to 13 AD, is the first and arguably most important part of my timeline. It starts with the fall of Rome by the Senone, the Point of Divergence of my timeline, and ends with the stage largely set for the rest of my timeline. For the most part, it chronicles the long series of wars between the Safinei and the Etruscans that occur in my timeline, eventually culminating the the Third Safinei War. However, the story also follows Carthage, the Gallic states, and Macedonia, each nation or region plotting their own alternate course.

Notes and Clarification

  1. As some have noted, I have been annoyingly inconsistent with my naming of nations. The first and most obvious of this is the Safinei, a name that many will not recognize. This name is simply the name the Samnites gave themselves, and thus I used it, as the Romans were never around to give them the name they are known by today. However, this only applies here, and thus, Carthage is known by the name the Romans gave it in this timeline, instead of the native Qart-ḥadašt.
  2. The other major inconsistency is the naming of the Gallic states - Paris, Orleans, Brittorcay and Normandii. Originally these were supposed to be placeholders, but I neglected to find native names until it was much to late to change all the pages that had these names on it. In order to resolve this, I have established this simple rule: While originally these areas had native Gallic Names (These can be found on their respective pages) they were later given other names by various historical factors. It is the newer names that they will be referred to as, but rest assured, Native names do exist.
