ELC is a unrecognized country located in Gran Canaria . . The ELC was founded in 2008 when the Coup was successful.

With an area of approximately 1450 KM2, ELC is a very small country. ELC is a dictatorial state with Alvarado Lopez as head of state. The economy is based on exports to Morocco (usually illegal) mostly and based on farming. Other economic activities are residual after war but the third sector (services) are experimenting an expansion for the Moroccan and Chinese tourists. The European Union isolated the ELC for being illegal and unconstitutional.

The Euro is the current money, but since 2018, the new government studies the creation of a new money. The EU cut the entry of money to ELC since Spain retired from that zone in 2007. Being the economy since that, a deteriorated economy with an estimated HDI of 0.430, a very low HDI comparing it with the pre-war index of 0.905.

At the start of the year 2019, the francos,the new money is on circulation in all the territory.
