The Alliance and Cooperation of European States, also known as the European Alliance, is a political, military and economic union of that are located primarily in Europe.

European Union policies aim to ensure the movement of people, goods, services and capital within the internal market; form a collective defense alliance, enact legislation in justice and home affairs; and maintain common policies on trade, agriculture, fisheries and regional development.

The foundations for the formation of the European Alliance came during the middle and latter stages of the Russian Civil War, shortly after the Whites conquered Tsaritsyn, Moscow and Petrograd, which conservative forces in the Weimar Republic and France called for a united European alliance against communists.

Both nations sent volunteer fighters to Russia, to help Pyotr Wrangel, Pyotr Krasnov and Alexander Kolchak finish off the Bolsheviks. These movements only strengthened with the rise of ultranationalists in Germany and France, who strengthened their relations with Russia, economically, politically and miltarily - which in-turn, allowed Russia to industrialize.

The European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and the European Economic Community (EEC), established, respectively, by the 1951 Treaty of Paris and 1957 Treaty of Moscow. The original members of what came to be known as the European Communities were the Great Four: Russia, Germany, France and Italy. The Communities and their successors have grown in size by the accession of new member states and in power by the addition of policy areas to their remit.

Containing some 5.8% of the world population in 2020, the EA had generated a nominal gross domestic product (GDP) of around US$15.5 trillion in 2019, constituting approximately 18% of global nominal GDP. Additionally, all EU countries have a very high Human Development Index according to the United Nations Development Programme. Through the Common Foreign and Security Policy, the union has developed a role in external relations and defence. It maintains permanent diplomatic missions throughout the world and represents itself at the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the G7 and the G20.

The difference between the EA of this ATL and the EU of our OTL is that the European Alliance was found on the basis of nationalism and conservatism in Europe, therefore, there is no single currency within the European Alliance.

History[]

Charles de Gaulle of France becomes Fascist, Wilhelm III siezes power in Germany, and doesn't care about killing Jews. Both De Gaulle and Wilhlem III believe in anti-World War I conspiracies, and blame the United States for its role in dictating post-World War I policies, and seize control of all the elite institutions operating in France and Germany.

Both De Gaulle and Wilhelm III are anti-American, sign the Franco-German Treaty, and instead, look to Russia as their large ally, and look to re-form their empires and form a European coalition that would combat American influence.

De Gaulle and Wihlem III support Peter I, as well as Alexander I of Russia, to help the resurgent Russian Empire finish off the Soviet Russians.

The new French and German states continue to send supplies and volunteer fighters in Russia's various wars, practically strengthening and sealing the de facto alliance.
