The Falkland Islands (Spanish: Islas Marvinas) are a group of islands located in the South Atlantic. It is a British Overseas Territory and is currently a source of dispute with Argentina, along with the nearby overseas territory of South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands. The United Kingdom and Argentina fought a brief war over these territories in 1982, known as the Falklands War. Years after the war, the Falkland Islands are still pro-British.
