The Federal Ministry of Defense (also called Ministry of Defence, is the governmental department responsible for defending the Philippines from internal and external military threats. Its political head is the Defense Minister of Israel, and its offices are located in Defence Ministry Tower, Manila.
The Federal Ministry of Defense oversees most of the security forces, including the Philippine Defence Forces (PDF), Philippine Military Industry and Aerospace (PMIA).
The FMOD was established when the Commonwealth ended, and the United States Armed Forces departed from the newly formed Philippines.
