The Early Chaos and the Evacuation (Weeks One and Two)[]
The Evacuation of New Orleans
At first when the disease was identified there were already 4000 cases in the US. these were only in cities at the time. New York City, Boston, Chicago and Miami. The military tried to quarantine these cities at first, blowing up bridges and collapsing tunnels out of the city. Walls were beginning to be erected outside many of these cities. This proved terrifyingly unsuccessful due to the fact at the time most of the early infections were in the suburbs not the city centres. This wasted millions in taxpayer money and in the end the cities succumbed to the chaos. By Week Two 14 states were infected. Martial law was declared on Day 17 and riots and looting and Paranoia of the public made it almost impossible to distinguish between the infected and the normal.
The Bombing of the NY bridges
After Day 19 authorities realised it was two hard to save the entire cities of Boston, New York city, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Trenton and Milwaukee. And decided to give the go ahead for a full scale Evacuation of New Orleans, Tampa, Orlando, Washington D.C, Detroit, Indianapolis, Madison and Philadelphia instead.
Most famous was the evacuation of New Orleans because of the chaos and overcrowding the event was. Only weeks after leaving a hurricane ripped through the city, almost destroying it.
Twelve hundred Poorly and rushed refugee camps were put together in Malls, Car parks, Hospitals and Stadiums in small towns and rural areas all over the East coast and Michigan.
Many smaller communities and cities began to self evacuate, the panic and confusion of multiple Evacuation routes, millions of people and multiple cities was worsened by the fact now smaller communities in the North East and Florida and Georgia were panicking and leaving their homes. At this point only 90,000 people were infected across 23 states but almost 120,000 were dead. 87% of which were caused by non-infected Human violence and error.
The Florida Safe Zone The Midwest and The Atlanta Lock down. (Week Three)[]

On Day 15 the military established a safe zone in the Keys and Key West, Florida. This was because of the fact it had only a seven mile bridge connecting it to the mainland. And easy way to eliminate infected getting close if they were spotted. Some resistance was met at first by the Island of Key West which had declared itself independent in the 1980s but a public example was made of them. Survivors were told to head there. The only problem with this was the fact you had to go through Miami to get there, or else alligator infested swampland. In response to this the Safe zone was declared for Miami evacuees only, Miami was the least infected city at the time with 12,000 infected. The military put people into quarantine on the Island of Layton for five days before they were allowed to travel the rest of the bridge. This walk became to be known as The Seven mile Walk to freedom and end as time went on, the "end" part stood for death. Over 90,000 people died on the bridge. 46,000 of which were on Day 19 (19th June) when it was discovered over a thousand people were infected. In panic the military bombed the bridge and closed off the Safe Zone entrance and shot any person, infected or not that came near. At that time the safe zone held over 189,000 people.
The Construction of the Atlanta Wall
At this stage large suburbs of Macon, Georgia and Mobile, Alabama were infected. This caused the Atlanta Lock down. In terror the military surrounding Atlanta, Georgia made it enter a lock down state. They rigged the Highway with landmines and traps to stop refugees from Florida and the North East. Large convoys of weapons were handed to the public.
The U.S government quickly took interest and declared it Project Anti-Terocyglycmoisis or Project A-T as the it was commonly referred to. A large wall to seal off the Metropolitan area. 10% of people residing in the suburbs were ordered to evacuate inwards to the Metropolitan zone while the rest were ordered to Evacuate to Louisville, Kentucky Over 7000 of the soldiers from Fort Knoxx were flown to Atlanta to form its protection along with the current soldiers. The residents here were killed off in an "accident" if they showed any liability. Schools re-opened in the downtown area but only taught the students survival techniques and shooting. etc. The surrounding area and suburbs were bombed to the ground. The Atlanta Wall was worked on by every available person at the time. The Population in July 2007 was 150,000. As time went on and the US Government collapsed it formed its own becoming Infamous Militant Military State - the Atlanta Militia Republic.
The Midwest of America, while previously sparsely populated (with the exception of Michigan, Illinois, etc.) had a giant influx in population of people escaping Chicago in the first week. Duluth, Minnesota saw an increase of 120% of its population. The local citizens soon ran out of food in the town and many reluctantly turned to cannibalism. A military evacuation party was ordered in to evacuate them to the Woods to the north due to their proximity to Milwaukee when they saw the townspeople they thought the town was fully infected and ordered an airstrike. In reality nobody was infected but almost everyone died in end. Other parts such as Fargo, North Dakota isolated themselves and the Parasite failed to reach the town until later in the year during the last parts of the Long March North.
Hurricane Romero, The Fall of Dallas and The Texas Panic (Week Four)[]

As the Parasite spread by week four over 1.3 million people in the US were infected. This was to surge after the parasite's waste was accidentally released into the Greater Dallas Area's water supply. Infecting 5.3 million people only 1.1 million Dallasites (yes, that's the actual demonym - how ironic) were not infected via water. Because five in six were infected order quickly broke down and within 48 hours the city was 98% infected. The military blocked the highways out of the city trapping everyone inside making the city a bloodbath.
Hundreds of nearby cities and towns shut down the entire water grid and many people rushed towards the Rocky Mountains, fearful that the infected would come looking for food. This led to the total collapse of order in Texas within hours the clogging of the highways gave the disease a quick means to spread due to the density people could not escape and thousands died that day. This eventually lead to the Denver Executions and the infection of the Desert States.
On day 28 (28th June) hurricane Romero ripped through the Southern United States. It did non-serious damage to Key West but it destroyed various refugee camps and New Orleans. Mobile, Alabama and San Antonio, Texas were severely damaged. All this helped spread the infection. By now New England, New York, Illinois and the South had an average infection rate of 79% infected.
The Denver Executions, New Mexico and the California isolation program (Week Five)[]
In response to the growing number of evacuees the US army was ordered to blow up any mountain pass through the Rocky mountains. This was successful but unlucky for the residents of Denver. Due to the fact they were at a pass at the beginning of the mountains many people went that was hoping for a quick route through the highway pass the city provided. When the people found out the pass was undriveable the majority were left to sleep in Stadiums and Malls long abandoned due to the fact they were all looted in the riots of the early days. The problem grew and to keep the infection to spread half the residents of the city were killed in bombings later known as the Denver Executions due to the cruelty of the organized bombings to prevent the disease to spread in the city despite no recorded sufferers of the Parasite.
At the same time refugees from Texas spread the disease to New Mexico. Santa Fe and Albuquerque residents were told to evacuate to the National Forest north of the two cities and that the cities would be fire bombed in ten hours. This was to form a population gap from Texas to Arizona to prevent the spread of the disease. As planned the majority of the residents died in the desert heat.
California, an iconic symbol of America, was out under its own program, but it differed from the Atlanta Lock down and Florida Keys Safe zone. Los Angeles and San Francisco were cut off from the outside world by having their communications networks shut down and having supplies airdropped into the city. All roads were shut down and the civilian use of oil was made illegal due to the rarity of it nationwide. Only time would tell if this would work.
The Long March North, California's collapse and the East Coast Nuclear Meltdown (Week Six)[]
On Day 43 An unattended Nuclear Plant outside New York City went into Meltdown making it deadly to live on the North East Coast line. Millions of Humans and Animals got radiation sickness and thousands died.
Californians panicked before the infection reached them due to the restrictions. Thousands die.
