Hongjiang was first founded and formed by the Chinese in 1620 as a colony. Soon it quickly expanded and took over more land. It then fought a war of independence from 1805 to 1810, in which Hongjiang has won and was able to secure independence. Later on it grew to be a very powerful and prosperous nation, though soon after the Communist-Kuomintang war happened in Republic of China in 1920s (in which the Kuomintang had won), Mao Zedong fled to Hongjiang and soon caused another civil war, eventually establishing a communist government in Hongjiang by 1930. It joined the allies in the Second World War after New Venice had invaded Hongjiang and soon, Hongjiang managed to repel the invading forces and soon set up a puppet communist government in New Venice by 1944. Since then Hongjiang sided with the Soviet Union and took part in the Cold War. By 1985, the Cold War had ended and the Soviet Union fell, though Communist Government kept in power in Hongjiang until the Protests of 1989, in which the Communist Government in Hongjiang fell and a democratic government was set up. Today Hongjiang is showing signs of new growth and development, though is not as strong as it once was, but it is rebuilding to it.
