The State of Fascist Spain (Spanish: Estado de la España Fascista) is a nation in southwestern Europe.

History[]

Spanish history dates back to the arrival of Iberians from Libya and Celts from Europe creating a unique tribal society in Spain. Colonization of its east coast by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, and eventually Romans, leading to the creation of powerful Visigothic successor state in the Roman tradition once Rome fell.

The Muslim Moors invaded in the early 700s, establishing an Emirate at Cordoba. The Moors would remain in Southern Spain until, in 1492 the united kingdoms of Aragon and Castille would repel the last of the Muslims.

Spain would then build a huge empire in the 1500s under the Habsburg family, but Spain ended up under the Bourbon family. With a war against the US in 1898, the Spanish Empire was officially over.

Government[]

Just prior to Yellowstone's eruption on July 18, 1936, the nationalist forces of Spain had thrown a coup in Spain, starting a war with the Communist-leaning Republican forces.

Prior to the war, Spain was a republic after many centuries of monarchy, but after the civil war, Spain descended into autocratic government under Francisco Franco. Franco would rule as Caudillo.

He also invited back the Bourbon dynasty as the monarchs of Spain. Therefore, King Juan III was also a powerful government figure in post-Yellowstone Spain.

Under Pedro Franco, the post of Prime Minister was also created as head of the Cortes Españolas, a small legislative body tasked with some law-making power.
