The New York City Subway is a rapid transit system owned by the City of New York and leased to the New York City Transit Authority, a subsidiary agency of the state-run Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Opened in 1904, the New York City Subway is one of the world's oldest public transit systems, one of the world's most used metro systems, and the metro system with the most stations and the most trackage. It offers service 24 hours per day and every day of the year.

Proposed Services[]
Second Avenue Subway[]
The Second Avenue Subway is a subway line that will establish the new and trains, as well as extend the current beyond 57th Street. The new line will also replace the Houston Street Shuttle () and close the Second Avenue Station, however a station in the Lower East Side will open in replacement. The Second Avenue Subway will span from 125th Street to 14th Street, with the operating with it until it reaches 72nd Street. While the Second Avenue Subway only serves Manhattan, the and will operate out to Brooklyn via the Houston Street Line and will eventually serve Staten Island after the completion of the Smith Tunnel Expansion.
IND Crosstown Express[]
The IND Crosstown Express (<G>) is a proposed rush-hour express train that will operate between Norwood – 205th Street (IND Concourse Line) and Coney Island and skip stops that the regular G train makes.
