The Game

1986

Local gangs in Juarez and southern Texas manage to unite enough survivors near the ruined city, declaring the nation of El Paso del Norte ("North Pass"). The nation encompasses Juarez, El Paso and much of northeast Chihuahua.

The California Freedom Party is founded in Northern California. The party calls for an end to war in the region, neutrality and for the creation of a free democracy known as Jefferson. The party gains a small following among soldiers and those living along the border.

With the 1986 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, nations are asked to complete their bids for venues and express their interest in participating within the next few weeks.

The previously independent town of Slab City is incorporated into Salton. The town becomes one of the fastest growing settlements in southern California. Salton also annexes much of the Imperial Valley, fortifying the south from the city of Mexicali.

The Zombie infection is spotted in eastern and northern India. Within weeks the infection kills thousands. Much of India is devastated, and infection appears across the nation.

The nation of the People's Republic of China is officially disbanded. After years of fighting infection and civil war, the nation is divided among several rebel factions. The war in Tibet ends with Tibet remaining independent. The Republic of China, also known as Taiwan begins efforts to reclaim control of the mainland now that their main competitor to the Chinese nation is dismantled.

The nation of Hidalgo is established in southern New Mexico. Centered around Lordsburg, a popular trade post heavily influenced by the New Mexican city-states, the small nation joins the New Mexican alliance.

Austria’s invasion of Liechtenstein is successful and much of the nation is secured. Political enemies are rounded up and detained.

Japan: Japan continues to build up the Self Defence Forces and infrastructure is improved. Some of the Maritime Self Defence Force still continues to patrol around Japan. Synthpop, Electro and Techno continues to rise in popularity. Some more Zen Taoist Temples continue to be built in Northern Japan. Tatsunori Katsumata begins working on his new game. Cleanup and aid continues for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. The Republic of Kyushu continues to rebuild the island. Sega releases their new console, the Master System. The Miyako colony expands slightly.

Commonwealth: The Zombie that was injected with a modified version of Phlaxicortin-X, which reverted to a sick and deformed human, is slowly, but steadily becoming healthier. It is expected that the specimen will become sentient in May. A version of the modified Phlaxicortin-X is being developed to be either mist or gas. Continues development and expansion.

Texas: Even Muñiz cannot allow anyone to secede from Texas. He makes a declaration that El Paso del Norte has to be stopped. He begs the New Mexican alliance to not invade in return, stating that they are trying to free the people from the gangs that control it.

Meanwhile, David Duke has moved to West Texas and has become a commander in Settlers' Defense. He stated that he just had to get out of the 'political mess' back east. He recently started a petition for a recall election against Muñiz. Some of his cronies in Congress have also authored amendments hoping to limit Muñiz's power. One bill, creating the ability to hold a vote of no confidence, is picking up speed in the KNP-dominated Legislature.

• New Mexican Alliance (Mod): The New Mexican microstates respond by stating that if Texas does not infringe upon their sovereignty further, then there would be no need for any invasion. They offer to send whatever aid they can to help those living in war-torn parts of Texas.
• The West Texans reject the offer, reminding the New Mexicans that their guerrilla fighters were the ones who made it wartorn. Settlers' Defense warns the alliance to not try to influence West Texas.
• New Mexican Alliance (Mod): The New Mexicans remind the West Texans that it was the unprovoked invasion of Futura that caused them to use guerrilla tactics.

Austria: The war ends as the Austrian military destroys all of the "rebels" and annexes Liechtenstein into the empire. The political enemies are tortured inside Austrian prisons to reveal the locations of any remaining rebels and the ones which refuse to talk are executed. Elsewhere, the military is built up to recover from the losses sustained from the war and to exact control over the new territories.

Kingdom of Italy: The navy's score is increased by 0.25 as every member of the navy is given a shotgun and a standard naval knife. We also begin work on a naval border to other nation's ships. We tell the Tunisian government that they need to step down. The parliament begins debating an invasion of Tunisia to help the rebels. I will only invade if another country offers support. We offer the Republic of China an alliance and tell the Texan government they need to stop the bullying. The king and three different corporations say that they will pay for a Nova Roma World Cup 1986. The World Cup would promote Nova Roma - a thriving city of tourism - whose industry is being built up,

• RoS Diplomacy: We will support this invasion provided that they will release them at the end of the conflict.

United Islamic Caliphate: The soldiers sent to Istanbul on the request of the Republic of Susquehanna arrive back with huge, government run fanfare. The national propaganda plays their part up by saying that Turkey's most heavily and final fortresses would never have fallen without the aid of the soldiers, when in reality they arrived at the tail end of the Siege of Istanbul. The small group of council members continue to stop an attempt at signing the Treaty of Dubai, for they are looking at a loose interpretation of the UN, saying its International Justice would lead to many people of high rank in all levels of the UIC government to be arrested by an international court seeing as the rebellion could be seen as an unlawful demonstration, and the Global Shelter and Food conflicts because women in the UIC cannot own their own houses (They can have an apartment room, etc.), and will lead to conflicts with the UN (These councilmen are very pro-isolationist, and oppose most things having to do with interaction and co-operation between nations. There were four members at first in this group, but it has grown to 15, making them more of a threat to international relations.)

Northern California: An interim government-in-exile in formed by the Californian Freedom Party leader Mark Robinson in Seattle. He calls for a revolution in Northern California to end the regime of Louis Pittankel. Many took up to the streets in protest against him and called for his resignation. By this time Pittankel can no longer contain his anger, so he stepped he declared a state of siege in the country, not knowing that a coup d'etat is on the way, staged by CFP-backed officers. The coup failed, and Pittankel signed the National Security Enabling act into law, bringing the Californian Republic to an end and marked the rise of the Greater Californian State, with Pittankel as their leader. He planned a large-scale invasion of the Bay Republic, occupying its northern half in no less then seven months, with an army of 1.3 million soldiers.

Falklands: The original populace of the Falkland Islands are all in New Falkland now, but the islands are now full of Argentinian ex-pats. We start to turn a level of the city into farmland, with artificial lighting and fertile soil with natural compost (cow pats), and we are now well on the way to being able (in an emergency) to seal up the city and survive indefinitely with our own produce and energy. We also set up a system of vents to allow air in for such an occasion. We also set up a desalinization plant at the seafront to provide us with fresh water. We will have finished by 1986.25.

Wu: Asks the World to support Wu over the ROC and tells them about corrupted officials and the dictatorship of the Chiang family in Taiwan. Settlers are sent to more surrounding areas of Wu and the army is sent to attack rebel factions. Asks for an alliance with Commonwealth and UIC.

CM: The government asks Elba to join the CM very forcibly. We have a population of around three million, and you have under 30,000. We want Sicily, Granada, the Balaerics, Malta, Cyprus, and Italy to all either join as members, or accept being protectorates of the CM.

• Elba: Scandalized and disgusted by the forced request, President Giancarlo Gasparri refuses. The President also forbids any request from the CM. Elba asks aid for Japan in order to protect the island from any CM invasion.
• United States Diplomacy: We ask the ULN to forbid a war between the CM and Elba, hoping to find a peaceful approach to this conflict.

United Republics: Continues cleanup of Chile. Georgetown and Cyrenne expand inland slightly (still connected). Plans to launch another manned mission are drawn up. The UR continues to develop its infrastructure and industrial power.

Republic of Susquehanna: The Navy deploys the aircraft carrier on a world tour, and they send a flight of helicopters west to find other US survivor states. More reconstruction occurs, and another fence is built to separate the RoS from the US. Fortifications are built on Socotra, along with pillboxes, and other defensive structures. A secondary capitol building is built on the island, and a more troops are stationed there. It is not a threat to the UIC, but preparations for possible Soviet incursions. A search team enters the USSR to find the downed plane, and is immediately arrested and disappears. The RoS demands their return.

Five new M1-Mahoning battle tanks are constructed (OTL M1-Abram), raising the RoS military 0.25.

United States: Older tanks begin to be phased out and replaced by the more advanced M1 Abrams. With experience from the Middle East War, strategists begin training soldiers in new tactics, utilizing modern weaponry. This military buildup increases our army score to 3.25. With the US presidential elections on the horizon, several candidates intensify their campaigns. In the Democratic Party Walter Mondale and Jimmy Carter are the lead candidates, while Harold Stassen and Ben Fernandez are the lead candidates of the Republican Party. The Space Shuttle Challenger is launched. Seventy-three seconds into its flight a malfunction causes the death of all on board. An investigation is launched to determine the cause of the explosion.

The USSR returns the crew from the Republic of Susquehanna, apologizing for the incident.

Despite the opportunity for Taiwan to take back mainland China, much of the island is divided. The majority of people believe it would be more beneficial to remain isolationist and heighten the island defenses. Some, however, wish to pursue an invasion, even though this would be extremely expensive and risky.

Protests occur in Mongolia calling for a more democratic government. Following in the USSR’s footsteps, the government begins to incorporate social reforms and allow opposition parties.

The ULN urges the CM and Elba to reach a peaceful compromise and avoid a war in the region.

Since the majority of the people on Crete are so culturally different from Italy, protests on Crete begin calling for independence from the Confederation.

Democratic governments are established in Tunisia and Algeria, following Morocco, Libya and the other nations of the Arab Spring. Elections in both nations are scheduled to take place by the end of the year. Reconstruction begins.

Jeffersonian nationalists begin openly opposing the war against the Bay Republic. Protests occur across the southern border of Northern California. Despite this, the invasion continues (make an algorithm).

El Paso del Norte, pressed with internal conflicts and infection, agrees to become a protectorate of Texas, hoping to avoid war and help the people inside its borders.

Commonwealth: We ask Indonesia if they would like to join us (RNG). Continues work on the Phlaxicortin-X gas. The Zombie with the injected Phlaxicortin-X appears to be recovering further. Continues development and expansion.

• Texas Dip: We are interested in contributing to and sharing cure research.
• Commonwealth Dip: We invite a group of Texan officials to Canberra. However, they must enter the nation after being decontaminated and screened for infection.

Kingdom of Italy: The Kingdom creates the Praetorian Guard, a highly trained elite force that is the Kingdom's version of the navy SEALs. The military score is increased by 0.25. We decide to join the CM and continue the stand off with our enemy Elba. The KCC is formed to be the national computer company of Italy. They offer Apple a deal of _____. What do the moderators think would be a good price? The parliament begins debating a bill which would give free heathcare for all. Would Tunisia like to join the CM?

Again, you can't join the CM. Price for what? Tunisia would not join.

The price for Apple and how could I join since Rex and I invented it and I can't even be a member of it.

Texas sends troops into El Paso del Norte to stabilize the area and prevent further infection. The border is redone, with what was formerly part of Texas returned. As consolation, Texan soldiers help Paso to expand into Chihuahua, and further exploration is encouraged. David Duke leads Settlers' Defense in a series of hit-and-run raids against the New Mexican Alliance. Soldiers in particular are targeted. Muñiz tries to handle the situation, but the whole situation is getting out of hand. George H W Bush is among many criticizing Muñiz's handling of it, but Bush feels that Duke is going too far. Bush is becoming popular as a compromise between two extremes, Duke and Muñiz.

Falklands: We are now completely able to survive in the city. We begin to establish another city, but we work by digging a tunnel under the ice to where we want the city, melting all the ice off, and starting construction. The government moves to New Falkland (if they already have delete this bit). We fortify the only surface point in the entire city. We expect that it will be fortified to be able to withstand a small nuclear explosion by 1990.

Republic of Susquehanna: The government accepts the USSR's apology, and the return of the craft and men. Industry continues to upgrade by 0.25. The first rocket is launched into space carrying a communications satellite, and upper atmospherical analysing instruments.

Wu: Asks the World to support Wu over the ROC and tells them about corrupted officials and the dictatorship of the Chiang family in Taiwan. Ships land in Guandong and the Yantze River Delta. The army attacks Jianxi against Zombie Hordes. Claim all previous P.R.C territory except Heilongjian, Jilin, Tibet, Liaoning and Inner Mongolia.

Northern California: However, the CFP-backed officers were able to flee to establish a rival government which was to be the continuation of the Republic of California in Jefferson, something like Taiwan in OTL. Later, CUAZEF dissidents took the Channel Islands to reserve CFP sovereignty should Pittankel or Bay Republic militia invade Jefferson. Asks mod for the creation a free republic of Jefferson. However, the Fascist regime in Eureka establishes the Bear Guard, a highly trained elite force that is the regime's version of the navy SEALs and uses them to terrorize the Bay Republic until they surrender.

Chan Santa Cruz: The exploration party from the Panama Canal is back (if this next bit violates canon tell me) They say that the area is totally empty, with Zombies having rotted, but that the area needs cleansing. We immediately dispatch a team to do so. Mods, can I have the diplomatic responses to my soundings out of North Mexico/South US please?

CM: The Confederate Mediterranean, the official and legitimate government of the Mediterranean Ocean, Sardinia, Corsica and Crete, with claims on Elba, Malta, the Balaerics, and Sicily, officially asks to become a state of las Republicas Unidas. The CM as a nation no longer exists, and is divided into Sardinia, Corsica and Crete, all of which ask to be part of the UR in a special European Zone which will include Portugal and Granada.

Scandinavia grows its military score. Our army moves into the rest of Finland, with high hopes of freeing that region from the Zombies. Deciding it is time to further our Union, Scandinavia asks the Baltic Confederation to join Scandinavia in a fully united government. Meanwhile, our navy sails up to Svalbard to invite them to join our nation. Our capital at Stockholm grows its infrastructure. Can we have our scores, please?

Army: 1, Navy: 1, Industry: 1, Stability: 50.

*Kingdom Diplomacy: We invite Scandinavia to merge with the Kingdom to create the European Confederation - a UR style nation. Rex, if you agree we can finally be united

United Islamic Caliphate: The military engineers working on a design for a new tank that Yemen can call its own is finally successful. They call their design the Saladin-1D, or S1D Main Battle Tank. The design is modified for a desert, with a complex filtration and air conditioning system designed to keep heat, and sand from entering and staying in the main armament, the vehicle, and gears. The armor is 5.825 inches thick, which is smaller than regular M60 Patton's it was based on, to allow for more maneuverability in the desert. The gun armament is a design all on its own, a 105mm As'ad Rifled Gun. The tracks are specifically designed for desert sands, and its operational range is 320 miles, and can go 35 miles per hour. The design is set to be produced as a prototype in six months, and from there, further testing will commence.

United States: The Channel League joint navy is created, using ten Barbarossa-Class amphibious assault helicopters carriers, ten US Gearing-Class destroyers, 21 US Fletcher-Class destroyers, ten Konya-Class submarine, two Long-Haul Evren-Class aircraft carriers, one US Forrestal-Class aircraft carrier, two Ankara-Class battleship, 20 Yigit-Class destroyers, three Albany-class cruisers, one Maryland-class battleship, and 50 patrol boats. The Channel League army is also boosted with tanks from Turkey and valuable leader experience. With the new military consolidated the Channel league launched a vicious campaign into the French countryside. Once the immediate area around the coast is secured, soldiers are stationed in all major cities of the League, acting as a police force to help quell piracy and crime. The main force, comprised almost entirely out of French and Dutch volunteers, is sent up the French coast toward Calais, hoping to clear the coast to the Belgian border. from Etaples and Eu the land force branched off and was ordered toward Arras. With upgraded technology and aid from the US the Channel League undergoes the greatest industrial boom in decades. Towns are equipped to defend themselves, housing factories and military garrisons. Roads are also patrolled and repaired by local volunteers, patching up roads along the coast, into Brittany, and into Picardy. Large scale trade with France and Picardy begins for the first time since the apocalypse, connecting all of France. German travelers bring news of the so-called “Great Highway”, a loose network of roads from Berlin to Hannover, to Dusseldorf, branching off the reach all of Germany. Militia in major towns are responsible for caring for their section of road, creating shortcuts and supply caches along the old national highways. It is believed that the road is most likely used by the Holy Roman Empire for communication and trade, and we organize a force from the Netherlands to connect Amsterdam to the network. More M1 Abrams tanks are made to replace older models. Further investigation goes into the cause of the Challenger explosion. Despite the fierce political debates across the nation, every one pauses as President Gerald Ford delivers a speech over television, saying “We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved goodbye and 'slipped the surly bonds of Earth' to 'touch the face of God”.

Many of these rebels are executed for treason this year.

The Confederation of the Baltics declines the offer from Scandinavia, referencing the fact that they are ruled by the same person (Scandinavian player, you can play as both nations), and that it would be safer to isolate the islands from possible infected.

Following the succession of multiple republics from the union, and the increased democratic practices, the USSR is dissolved. The Russian Federation is declared, controlling the majority of Soviet land.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization is formed as the successor to the Warsaw Pact. Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Lithuania, and the Livonian Confederation join the organization.

Indonesia declines the offer from the Commonwealth, but asks for an alliance with the nation instead.

The nation of Singapore, which has managed to stay isolated and safe from the world around it, begins allowing citizens to settle Malaysian land near the city. Singaporean travelers begin settling across Southern Malaysia.

Protests increase on Crete as more people wish for independence. Italian settlers are discriminated against, sometimes ending in violence. Rebels take up arms, carrying the flag of the Cretan State, burning down and ransacking government buildings.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake rocks the city of Kalamata in southern Greece, killing 20 people, injuring 80 and completely destroying one-fifth of the city.

Falklands: We have now established another settlement. This one is tiny, however, but we are working to build it up. We are now training troops in Antarctic Warfare, so that they will be able to defeat any attack.

Austria: The infrastructure in the empire is improved as the territory destroyed in the war is repaired and the new territories are connected to the rest of the empire.

Texas sends men out to apprehend Duke and Settlers' Defense. A shootout occurs near Las Cruces, where two Texans and one local are severely wounded. Texas asks the New Mexican Alliance for help in taking down Duke. Meanwhile, a retraining program for the military, mainly focusing on anti-guerrilla tactics. Muñiz has seen small growth in popularity recently.

• New Mexican Alliance. (Mod): The New Mexican Alliance agrees to help Texas capture Duke, as he is a threat to peace in the region. They will also cease all guerrilla operations as a peace offering.
• Texas appreciates the offering. We offer to hold a conference to decide the borders once and for all.

Commonwealth: We accept Indonesia's alliance request. The Phlaxicortin-X mist has been developed and the fourth Zombie is successfully gassed and the effects of the third Zombie are replicated. Massive production of Phlaxicortin-X begins. A bomber is developed especially for low altitude mist dropping. We will be testing the mist on the go in Central Malaysia next year.

Kingdom of Italy: The kingdom comes out with its first technology device, the Kingdom Computer. The kingdom

computer begins selling all over the world and people begin to like it. The King opens up 25% of the company for shareholders, and the shares skyrocket. The industry score is upgraded by 0.25 because the government now realizes that there is hope for the Industry sector. We offer Scandinavia and the UR part of a pact called the Pact of Diamond. We will together discuss the terms.

Alaska: The South Territory of Baja California continues to expand north, and troops are ordered to stop at the OTL Baja/Baja Sur border.

Northern California: Continuing the invasion of the Bay Republic, North Californian soldiers finally captured Sacramento. However, the Black Hoods continued to terrorize San Francisco, Oakland and much of Contra Costa and Marin counties. However, the Californian Unification and Anti-Zombie Expeditionary Forces an offensive to liberate the California Desert Region from the Zombies and establish the client states of Mono, Inyo and Fresno-Tulare. Meanwhile, Bay Republic citizens began fighting the Black Hoods on the streets of San Francisco, provoking command on the R.C.S. Modoc to shell the city. Meanwhile in Jefferson, a paramilitary group, the Californian Freedom Front, was formed. The CFF later operated as guerrillas from the North California's southern border to the mountains of Butte-Plumas Province.

Scandinavia: Frees Svalbard from Zombies, and incorporates it into its national government. In addition, the rest of Finland is freed from Zombies. The next target for the military (Army is upgraded to 1.50) is the mainland of Denmark. We begin to send troops down there to free survivors and to integrate the nations. We begin to speak with the Livonian Confederation about possibly joining together, and point to the failure of the USSR as a sign that they need to move on. We welcome them to Scandinavia, if they choose so, and they can retain a connection with the former SSRs.

• Scandinavia: Is willing to open trade and discussion with Italy. Many wealthy Scandinavians purchase Kingdom Computers.
• Kingdom: We accept.

Wu: Asks the World to support Wu over the ROC and tells them about corrupted officials and the dictatorship of the Chiang family in Taiwan. Ships land in Guandong and the Yantze River Delta. The army attacks Jianxi against Zombie Hordes. The Zombie areas, with many Zombies rotten and decomposed, was taken by Wu forces very quickly. Settlers are sent to the area. The three Armoured Divisions and four Infantry divisions goes North to Beijing and fortifies the city.

Cascadia: Announces the New Spokane project. Spokane, which had been rendered uninhabited following the Zombie war, will be rebuilt and revitalized through a massive undertaking by Cascadia. Meanwhile, the military expands, as does the economy due to trade from the US. The Northern Californian invasion of the Bay Republic is condemned and Cascadia breaks off their alliance from Northern California.

United Republics: Continues to clean up Santiago. Furthermore, increases military score by 0.25 (2.25 mil, 2.0 industrial, 2.25 navy). Asks Brazilian people with their lack of government if they would like to join the UR. Intelligence agency agents go through even more rigorous training, making them by far the best in the world. URSA begins to resume space program with Chilean cleanup complete. Accepts the CM proposal to join the UR. However, will create the European zone with Granada, Crete, Sicily, Sardinia, and Corsica, and they will function as a separate nation. (Puppet/Vassal). They will be called the United Republics of the Med. Portugal will remain as is and will annex the region of Sevilla as well. Plans to return to the moon and the space station are drawn up and planned within the next three months. Georgetown and Cayenne expand, forming a now local government of colonists under the banner of United Republics of Guiana.

United States: Gerald Ford, and indirectly the Republican Party, are praised for the end of the Cold War, despite little of the President’s involvement affecting the USSR’s dissolution. We ask Russia to discuss a nuclear disarmament treaty. The Channel League military is further developed, stationing the majority of its fleet at Brighton where a new headquarters and upgraded dock is planned. Education in Swedish is begun. We invite the new Norwegian government to join us in Scandinavia. (MOD). Scandinavia asks to be promoted to Full Member of the UCO.

United Republics: UR intelligence agents promote UR annexation to southern Brazil. UR asks any Brazilian government out there to stand up and take control of its nation. Secret: UR begins to plan a lunar colony. However, they launch Artimis 5, including four cosmonauts including an Argentine, Chilean, Malvinian, and Uruguayan. UR considers the Pact of Diamond. Completes cleanup of Santiago, Conception and Valparaiso. Pacifica is built in between Conception adn Valparaiso - creating what will be know as the El Tri Municiple Metro. Two rockets adding a robotic arm, a telescope and updated equipment are sent to URSA Space Station.

After a costly invasion naval invasion the Northern Californians are pushed from San Francisco. The invaders initially landed near the city by sea, and were trapped in a near trench warfare style stalemate for weeks. The BRS Good Omen, which was severely damaged, leads a fleet of privateers against the Northern Californian fleet, engaging the withdrawing ships, but sinking in the process.

The Channel League military is further developed, stationing the majority of its fleet at Brighton where a new headquarters and upgraded dock is planned and under construction. Turkey’s army and navy are officially disarmed to the levels discussed in the Treaty of Dubai. Because of this disarmament Turkey’s army and navy scores drop by 0.50 each.

The Cretan revolution continues to gain momentum. An army of about 1,000 armed rebels are met by Italian military police south of Tourloti. After a day long battle the rebels retreated to the northeast, inflicting heavy casualties.

Surviving Mafia members overthrow the corrupt merchant government after discovering that the crooked merchants had a mole release the Zombies in the government building as a way to seize power.

The fundamentalist Mormon dictatorship of Deseret is overthrown by a rebel group calling themselves the Sons of Liberty. The New Crusader-backed dictatorship had lost the support of even the Mormon population, and only stayed in power because of the New Crusader jackboot. The new regime approaches the recovering Republic of Utah on the reunification of the state.

The city-state of Tucson, wishing to rid themselves of the Apache raider menace, declares war on what they call the Apache Republic. They meet absolutely no resistance, with the majority of the population being former Mexicans who are unhappy with Pedro's iron fisted rule. They successfully annex the nation, officially declaring themselves as the true Republic of Aztlan. Pedro and his cronies are executed for crimes against humanity. The shattered remnants of his raiders flee further south, where they are either killed by local gangs.

The Pretorian guard is NOT invading, it is just playing a CIA-like role. The Kingdom outlines all the areas that it claims. It claims Malta, Croatia, Venice, and Switzerland. The Regia Marina begins to build itself up. We ask the ULN to peacefully have a decision to our Hong Kong colony.

Northern California: The Transitional Committee, being established by the Jeffersonian rebels as the legitimate government of Northern California, welcomes the peace negotiations with the Bay Republic. The nations of Switzerland, Croatia and Venice, worried that Italy may pose a threat to their sovereignty, agree to a defense pact, vowing to aid each other in times of war. They invite Austria to also sign the treaty.  

Survivors from Joplin, Missouri begin leaving their town in search of supplies and other groups of survivors. The small declared nation of Joplin sends scouts down Route 44 into Springfield, and into northeast Oklahoma. Survivors along the Kansas border join the union, warning the Joplin inhabitants of the hostile Kansas survivors.

Heavily influenced by Russia and the former USSR, the Republic of Thrace joins the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

In preparation for the 1988 Austrian election scheduled to take place in a little over a year, candidates begin campaigning across the country. Deidrich Dopfer, former Progressive Party nominee who was highly successful in the 1984 election, begins campaigning as an independent candidate. Commonwealth: I missed yesterday so I'll include yesterday`s post in this one. The mist that was dropped on Malaysia is showing the same effects as it did in the laboratory. The Zombie that was injected and the Zombie that was gassed with Phlaxicortin-X are recovering and are now sentient to their surroundings. It is declared that a primitive cure has been developed, the cure will not be distributed internationally until enough is produced and the Malaysian `cured` Zombie/humans are showing signs of full recovery. Development and expansion continues.

South Africa's economy grows. The post will be expanded.

Texas continues expansion into Oklahoma, completely taking over the panhandle. In Juarez, gangs are cleared out and hopefully, order will be restored soon. With the peace with New Mexican alliance settling in, Texas does as they promised and sends crews to clean up and rebuild destroyed areas. However, they are not very willing to redesign Santa Fe in its "retro" style that Futura asks for. Texas also wishes to promote trade. In July, another surprise occurs: Texas votes to join the UDL. The President's approval ratings are hovering around 60% for ending Duke's Revolt quickly and settling the dispute with New Mexico. He believes he's done all that he wanted to, but will "continue to rebuild and aid those in need".

Dinetah: The exploration party returns, having made contact with Las Vegas, but the area between them is still infested with Zombies. We announce plans to upgrade our industry with the maize and lumber that we have acquired from Chan Santa Cruz, and the wheat that we have domestically produced. We discover the other New Mexican city-states, and therefore the Southwest League. Secret plans are made to dominate the league and eventually unite all of the city-states. In the midst of all of this activity, two major councilmen, Henry Franklin (Head of Expansion) and Ahiga Haskie (Commander of the Armed Forces). While Franklin's death was not majorly publicized, Haskie's death was gut-wrenching to most Dinetahns, for he was their "Father of The Country". Elections will be held next year, and several candidates ready for the open spots, for many more Council people are retiring. Population increases, and many new families move to areas outside the San Juan Valley, most notably toward the Painted Desert and north to southern Colorado. Craftsmen begin constructing a wall around Farmington. I need to make a flag fom scratch, can you show me any good programs for it?

Kingdom of Italy: The kingdom's first artificial satellite is sent up into space on K6 Regia rocket. All of original OTL Italy (excluding the islands) is liberated. We ask that the UR of the Med and Granada disband itself and merge with the kingdom. Crete would become Independent and Granada a UR vassal. The invasion of Zombie-occupied Albania begins. We encourage the Croatians to rebel and Venice to join the kingdom.

East Africa: The EAF forces make their move Tanga, wiping out a portion of the Zombie forces and destroying the rebel militias that refuse to ally with the government. The recruitment of 750 men and women for the military takes place, and the construction of light armored vehicles begins in the city of Zanzibar. The birth rate slowly increases with a government-operated program for the conception of children between soldiers and women taken from the conquered territories. Development of an artificial womb and sperm becomes the goal of many scientists in the nation, though novel to many in the field of genetics. Scouts move on to Dodoma for the next military move of the security forces. The industrial base of the nation is upgraded by 0.25 to 0.50.

Elba: A new airport is built in Marina di Capo (seat of Campo nell'Elba County).

Republic of Susquehanna: Reinforced buildings are constructed to prevent damage in a hurricane, and another communication satellite is launched.  Williamsport International Airport is expanded to accommodate new planes.

Austria: The Austrian economy is improved as industry expands to help fuel the future expansion into the Balkans and Germany. This becomes a hot topic for the elections coming up as the idea of Küsteland becomes popular as the Nationalists lead efforts for military expansion into Slovenia to establish a coastline. Nationalist nominee Arnold Schwarzenegger helps bring this idea to a wider audience and increases its popularity. Leaders of the Nationalist party praise Arnold Schwarzenegger for this and he is put forward as a leading candidate. This plan helps to convince the Austrian government to sign the defense pact with Switzerland, Croatia and Venice as the government sees these nations as valuable allies in helping Austria in its quest for Küsteland.

Scandinavia grows its industry, with companies like Nokia and Ericsson experiencing continued growth and beginning to send technology and supplies to Russia, the Livonian Confederation and Italy. Norway is threatened with invasion, and we offer them a good degree of autonomy, with their own monarch, should he swear allegiance to Harold. St. Petersburg is introduced as part of Finland.

We warn Italy to hold off on any further military expansion. (Maltan-Croatian and Hong Kong).

The nations of the Switzerland, Croatia, and Venice, worried that Italy may invade them, begin to orchestrate rebellion in the northern half of Italy, where the Kingdom of Italy has little control over. Northern rebels declare the Kingdom of Lombardy, ruled by a Venetian puppet.

With a chance to rebuild the city of Santa Fe, the government of Futura uses building supplies from Texas to lay the foundations for an extravagant, Las Vegas-like city. Modern defenses and city functions are planned into the city grid. A large stone wall is planned to cover the length of the Pecos River along the city.

The nation of Norway finally agrees to join the nation of Scandinavia.

In a surprise turn of events Deidrich Dopfer, popular Austrian independent candidate, aligns with the Nationalist Party, putting himself in the running against Arnold Schwarzenegger for the Nationalist Party nomination.

The city of Heraklion is re-constructed by the new Cretan government. A constitution is signed and the national military continues to clear opposition across the island.

The nations of Austria, Switzerland, Croatia, and Venice sign a defensive pact, declaring that they will aid each other in times of war.

Russia rejects the Scandinavian offer to sell Karelia and Sapmi.

Japan: Japan continues to build up the Self Defence Forces and infrastructure is improved. Some of the Maritime Self Defence Force still continues to patrol around Japan. Synthpop, Electro and Techno continue to rise in popularity. Tatsunori Katsumata continues his plan of making the plot for his next game. The Republic of Kyushu continues to rebuild the island.

Kingdom of Italy: The Kingdom is in chaos as a bomb explodes in the Nova Roma town square killing one member of the royal family, three MPs, and eight tourists: three Americans, two Scandinavians and three Italians. The investigators at the scene find that it might have been orchestrated by Lombardy and Venetian-funded terrorists. The army is put into full gear in Lombardy. The Kingdom releases the first laptop. We ask the Pact of Diamond signers to invade Venice as the Venetian troops begin to act aggressively on the border for war. Any nation in their right mind will help the Italians. Note: There will be no invasion unless there is extra support of the Pact of Diamond members and hopefuls. Hopefuls, we might let you sign if you help in this operation.

Scandinavia: demands Venice halt all terrorist activity in Italy, and that Lombardy is freed from Venetian rule. We demand ten million USD for each of the three Scandinavians killed in Nova Roma, or else this will be considered an act of war. We are furious that even a drop of Scandinavian blood would be spilled. We incoporate Norway as a Kingdom into Scandinavia, and grow the industry by 0.25.

In Texas, Muñiz announces his future plans. There are two main points: the growth and reconstruction of the economy and a break in Texas's global isolationism. For the first point, Texas opens up for international trade worldwide, and Industry is upgraded by 0.25. New trade routes are created as a way to ease tensions with New Mexico. For the second point, Muñiz announces Texas's support for the Kingdom of Italy, citing the pain terrorist attacks have brought to Texas. Muñiz offers his condolences for the families of victims and states that Venice and Lombardy have "overstepped their boundaries". However, he urges a closer investigation, fearing that the whole thing may be a hoax. He cautions the New Mexican states about Dinetah, stating in a secret message, "I have a gut feeling that all is not right with them." Texas investors invest in businesses in the new Santa Fe. Expansion in Oklahoma is suspended for now, as fears of a war in Italy become greater.

Dinetah: Dinetah, seeing that the other states in the Southwestern Alliance are under Texas' sphere of influence, halts expansion in the New Mexico area, instead turning its eyes toward Arizona and Colorado. Settlers heading north through the Animas River Valley come upon the ruins of Durango, CO, and inhabit it. It becomes a major farming center, and settlers hope to eventually form a healthy mining business in the mountains to the north of it. Settlers continue to also pour west. The Four Corners Monument is discovered and it is rebuilt as a Monument to Dinetahn Courage. The wall around Farmington is finished, and most of the construction workers move to the town of Teec Nos Pos to work on the monument.

• Kingdom Diplomacy: We ask that Dineth stand up for the Kingdom after the bombings.
• Dinetah Dip: We condemn the bombings and apologize that we can't help very much, for Dinetah has very little power outside the American Southwest. We support Italian actions wholeheartedly, but we warn you away from war, which could cripple Italy and sow seeds of hatred between Venice and the Kingdom.

United Republics: Lunar Colony plans are finalized. Artimus Seven is sent up with eight astronauts to establish the landing site and attempt to create a small building and underground structure near the Lunar North Pole near a lava tube. The base will use an algae-based gas exchange in addition to compressed O2, O3, CO2, and Nitrogen reserves. The base will be powered by solar panels, with a design for a nuclear reactor to be implemented into the grid. Artimus 8 and 9 will send up crucial supplies to the colony, including those to establish a farm at the North Pole which will use artificial light in addition to the natural light. This base, at its max, is planned for 100 permanent residents, and up to an additional 150 seasonal workers, researchers, etc. UR intelligence agents continue to stir up support for UR inclusion in Southern Brazil, up to 25%, and in the cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro around 15-20%. UR scientists in Antarctica improve on solar panels and their functions. Because of recent discoveries and commitment to research and vast production of its results, industry increases by 0.25.

• United States Diplomacy: We propose a joint space base with the UR.

  • US: We believe that a lunar base may be too ambitious right now, but we could launch a space station that orbits the Earth.

Republic of Susquehanna: A rocket with a small GPS satellite is launched for the military.  A radical cell of secessionist/gangsters declare the Free State of Berwick. They capture two tanks and manufacture 50 gyroscopes.  Military strength of the enemy is: two 1A4 Leopard Tanks, 50 gyroscopes (Armed with hand grenades and rifles), 183 pick-up trucks with machine guns, one Cessna, three helicopters, 20 fishing boats. They recruit 500 former Libertad members, 290 neo-Nazi's, 100 neo-Confederates, and around 2000 secessionists.  Many are armed with M-1 Garands or M-14's that were put in reserve in Berwick.  The city was barricaded before the formation of the RoS as protection from Zombies. 

• RoS Diplomacy: We ask the US, UIC, Texas, EHU, and ISAF for military aid.

United States: Peaceful ties are established with the successor states to the USSR, hopefully leading to nuclear disarmament. The Channel League military is developed further, stationing the majority of its fleet at Brighton where a new headquarters and upgraded dock is planned and is under construction. Regional naval bases also begin construction in Amsterdam and Brest to facilitate some sections of the main fleet. Work continues on the Cyprus fortifications, and the reconstruction in the Middle East. Amsterdam is connected to the Great Highway, allowing contact with the Holy Roman Empire. The first traders begin bridging the gap between the Channel League and the Holy Roman Empire. We decide to stay neutral in the conflict in Italy, but because of our blooming economic ties with the enemies of Italy, we favor Austria and indirectly support their efforts through trade.

Italian Minister of Defense Giovanni Spadolini is found assassinated and left hanging in the streets of Rome. Opponents of the current government piece together that Spadolini was connected to the bombings earlier that year.

Lombardian militia take the city of Genoa, which was just beginning to be retaken by the Italian government. Supply lines south of Milan are also harassed by militia armed by the northern alliance members.

The Southwest League invites the nation of Dinetah, Aztlan, and Phoenix to join the alliance as full members.

The Bay Republic meets with Northern California in Sacramento to begin discussing peace terms. The drafting of the Treaty of Sacramento begins.

Survivors from Joplin, Missouri continue leaving their town in search of supplies and other groups of survivors, spreading the influence of the Joplin nation. Individual survivor communities, known as tribes, are tied together through commerce. A national militia is also created, as many locals fear the neighboring Kansas-based tribes may take action against them. The United Republic of Leavenworth in turn also establishes a militia to prevent Joplin from taking action against them. The old Kansas-Missouri rivalry is set to spark violence once again.

Abelino Gutierrez, Mexican warlord and leader of the following in Mexicali, begins to branch into Salton territory. The Salton government in Cathedral City declares him an outlaw, launching police raids on known Gutierrez supporters. One of Gutierrez’s main officers is spotted in Slab City, causing a massive shootout in the streets. Many citizens of the Imperial Valley begin to side with Gutierrez after the brutal crackdown.

We ask the ULN to launch an invasion of Venice, the supporters of the attack. We begin a blockade of Venice and an all out assault as the nation prepares for WAR. Rationing, drafting, training, and Military build up begin. A speech is given saying that Venetians are just trying to slowly chip us down until they can turn it into a vassal.

The ULN is a peacekeeping organization, so they wouldn't invade. If anything they'd try to stop you. 

They could be asked to invade. The UN authorized the Korean Conflict, the US involvement in Libya and the list goes on. It really comes down to whether the member state chooses to go with the ULN's resolution. If this would keep the peace, then they may vote yes. Reximus55 (talk)

Republic of Susquehanna: More troops pour into Columbia County to repel the attackers.  Fighters strafe enemy emplacements while the Coast Guard blockades supplies. We again petition for aid from the US and other nations. More natural gas is found and stored. Due to the proximity of the war to Bloomsburg, the capitol is relocated to Coal Mountain.  Catholics clamor for war.

• Texas Dip: Texas aids its ally, sending 1000 men and fifteen tanks to help the RoS.

Texas: once again warns the Southwest League against letting Dinetah in. Meanwhile, the tragedy in Italy continues to be a talking point in Texas. The destruction of Vatican City infuriates the Catholics in the nation. They call for vengeance. 2500 soldiers are sent to keep peace in Italy. Meanwhile, the nation of Texas condemns the United Republic for its space colony, bringing up the Outer Space Treaty's clause against colonization of any part of outer space. Texas makes plans to introduce a similar treaty into the ULN. However, research is put into re-using old NASA buildings, like the one in Houston.

Where in the Outer Space Treaty does it say you cannot colonize outer space? All it says is that no claims can be made that do not give sovereignty and equal opportunity to all nations. Also, that any activity must be peaceful and not contain weapons of mass destruction. G greg e (talk)

Dinetah: Dinetah happily joins the Southwest League. Meanwhile, in Durango, a brickworks is completed, speeding up production of houses in the area and therefore settlement. Many believe that Dinetah has taken its greatest leap forward in industry ever due to the recent developments. (Industry increases by 0.25). The population of Dinetah has reached a symbolic 50,000. The day it reached 50,000 (January 25), has been declared a national holiday by George Smithsson, the Head of Domestic Affairs. Mirroring Texas and other nations, Catholics in Dinetah are outraged by the destruction of the Vatican. Eric Dele, a wealthy capitalist, known for an absurd proposal for an economy based on fertilizer factories, speaks at a political rally in Farmington. "All over the world, people have cried out, due to the attacks on the Vatican. We cannot help Italy, for we are puny. We shall not be for long. Follow me, and Dinetah shall take its rightful place among the great powers! His speeches inspire the nation, and a new political party (the Dinetah First Party) is quickly formed around him. The population continues to grow and Durango reaches 10,000 people.

Northern California: Cascadian fighter jets staged a surprise attack and destroyed a nuclear reactor somewhere in Siskiyou Province, saying that the reactor was used by the Fascist regime to process nuclear weapons against the Bay Republic and its allies. And the darkest day of the regime begins. Louis Pittankel's whereabouts were leaked by an insurgent spy to a group of TCC and Cascadian officers, who were planning a land invasion on the northern border. His whereabouts, acoording to the spy, who pretended as one of Pittankel's guards, said that he resided in a heavily-armed mansion not far from Montauge, in Siskiyou Province. A day later, a group of TCC partisans captured Louis Pittankel and his mistress, Anita Klaubarg. Some of Pittankel's colleagues managed to escape, but most of them were also nabbed by the partisans. Gen. Bill Edwards, the commander-in-chief of the facsist regime, was booted out from power due to a no-confidence vote by the National Assembly, now dominated by a coalition of the Californian Freedom Party and the Liberal Vanguard Party of California. After the no-cofindence vote, Prime Minister Francis Wood became provisional head of state for two days, which ended after rebels finally capture Eureka on February 17, 1988. The Great Californian State has finally come to an end, and Ronald Reagan, the chairman of the Transitional Committee of California, declared his government the legitimate ruling government of Northern California. The treaty is to be signed on March 1, 1988.

United Republics: Supplies and materials continue to be sent to build up the lunar base. Nations are invited to join in the lunar base. Intellegence agents expand Southern Brazil  interest in joining in the UR up to 30% in the most southern regions.  Catholics in the region call for action against the terrorists. However, the Pope warns they must be just and patient when looking at the suspects and not overreact.

• Kingdom Diplomacy: We would like to propose the ULNSA for all the nations in the world to co-operate with one Space Agency. ULNSA stands for United League of Nations space agency.

Wu: Asks the World to support Wu over the ROC and tells them about corrupted officials and the dictatorship of the Chiang family in Taiwan. Tractors are used in farming and massive water projects begin in the Yangtze River. 10,000 soldiers land in Hong Kong and begin building defences. Ask Japan, USSR and the United States for support of Wu over the Kingdom of Italia, if the latter invades Hong Kong. All previous P.R.C provinces are at least captured by one or more Wu regiments.

The terrorist attacks cause many to join the Italian army. Opponents of the Italian government uncover evidence of the terrorist attack being orchestrated by the government, infuriating many. The death of Giovanni Spadolini and other high ranking Italian officers is believed to have been in an effort to cover up the conspiracy.

Unbiased Scandinavian researchers have proven that the attacks on Rome were in fact terrorist attacks funded by Venetian Lombardy to create chaos in Italy.

The people of the the Guianas begin to distrust the UR settlers who have taken much of the coast. What was once believed to be relief mission taken on by the Argentinians, the settlement has occupied much of the coastal region, taking away homes and businesses from local inhabitants. Small slums have even begun to appear across the border where many refugees and poor have taken up home.

Rafael Gallegos, a Venezuelan native, begins to rally support from the native people of the Guianas. A fluent speaker of English, Gallegos preaches across Guyana, causing many to take up nationalist views. Violence breaks out against the most ambitious settlers of the UR territory and some British citizens. In the city of Bartica armed protesters forcefully remove all UR settlers, retaking the city.

Desmond Hoyte, president of Guyana, hopes to end the violence in Guyana, saying in an interview, “We are still a strong and well governed nation. We must not resort to tyranny. However, we will keep our lands sovereign.” The other nations of the Guianas take up similar stances.

The Treaty of Sacramento is officially signed, ending the war in California. With the new government firmly established, all armed rebellions officially disband. The new government begins considering renaming the nation to Jefferson. Most are in favor instead of renaming a state Jefferson.

The former Republic of Deseret agrees to reunite with the Republic of Utah after months of negotiation.

Lombardian militia remain firmly entrenched along the northern border of Italy, awaiting invasion. Cities and towns in Lombardy are restored, and a provisional government is established. The armies of Venice, Croatia and Switzerland are mobilized and await further orders. Local news describe the situation as being “at the breaking point.”

The navies of Venice and Croatia are consolidated and put on high alert. The fleet begins harassing Italian trade ships along the coast, successfully sinking or seizing dozens of ships.

Mongolia begins sponsoring settlements in Inner Mongolia. Chinese citizens in the region are assimilated and protected by the Mongolian government. Much of the area around the former Mongolian border is settled by the nation.

Falklands: We drop troops into Bartica, and use non-lethal force to bring a large number of protesters into custody before being extracted (with the prisoners) by helicopter. We further expand the smaller city.

• Wu Diplomacy (Secret): We are willing to share Taiwan or Hainan island with Italia and Japan, if they will support Wu in a imminent Chinese civil war with Wu against Manchuria, Tibet and R.O.C.
• Japan Diplomacy Secret: Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone agrees to support Wu against Manchuria, Tibet, and the Republic of China.
• Kingdom Diplomacy Secret: We agree to support Wu against all their enemies in OTL Asia, and in exchange we would like Wu to support us in Europe.

Kingdom of Italy: To counter the anti-government Semite we remind the people that one of the Kingdom's very own Royal Family member died in the bombings. The Regia Marina is upgraded by 0.25 as the Kingdom begins preparation of WAR. When Scandinavia officially launches a joint invasion of Venice and Croatia, who are killing our merchants who are just trying to make our computers thrive as the first laptop comes out. We begin fortifying our borders as we prepare for an invasion. The blockade continues stopping at least 20 arm shipments from other nations. Wu? Malta? We officially state the Republic of China and give them five shipments of weapons for stopping corruption and taking back the mainland. We begin occupying north Italy with extreme strength.

• Falklands: We are part of a larger nation that I think is already aiding you (UR?) and if not, we ask that they do
• Wu D: Wu condemns Italy's actions of blockading Wu ships and begins sending destroyers to block Italian ships to R.O.C. However, we will allow the ship to continue its route if it is strictly for commercial uses.

The Commonwealth's post will be erratic for the next few days. We discover that the Zombies that were misted a year or so ago recovered faster than the two in the laboratory. Mass production of the mist begins and all nations of earth are sent an offer to purchase the mist. Continues development and expansion.

• Kingdom Diplomacy: We will buy Phalanx gas and bombers, we ask that the Commonwealth support the Kingdom.
• Dinetah Dip: Being a poor, small, new nation, Dinetah asks how much the gas costs, before buying.
• Texas Dip: We are willing to pay for a large amount of the gas.
• Wu Dip: We are willing to pay for a few gallons of gas.

Alaska: Expansion of the south territory continues.

Scandinavia liberates Iceland, adding them as another Kingdom of Scandinavia. Currently, there are Sweden, Finland, Lappland, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland as Kingdoms of the Empire, with Harold I governing them all. We issue an ultimatum to Venice - let Lombardy go back to Italy, or be decimated by Scandinavian military forces. Our army grows by 0.25, in preparation for the war. We ask the US to send nuclear technology to Scandinavia, and also ask to be a part of the space program.

• United States: We will help develop your nuclear technology for the purpose of energy, but not for weapons.
• We thank the US.

Dinetah: Settlers continue pouring into Durango and the Four Corners area. In particular, the Four Corners area is claimed by both Painted Desert and Dinetah. Tensions remain low, but the government meets with Painted Desert leaders to discuss the borders. Some talk has even been made about combining the two nations, for they share similar forms of government and a strong Navajo heritage, (the word Dinetah being Navajo in origin, among other things.) Teec Nos Pos and the Four Corners Monument remain almost explicitly Dinetan, at least for now. As the Commonwealth has offered their Phalanx Zombie-killing gas to all nations, Dinetah wishes to acquire some to blaze a trade route to Chan Santa Cruz, but concerns have been made about its price.

United Republics: establish better relations with the people of Guiana. Reminding them to vote that the nation is independent and UR sends humanitarian and educational aid to the region. Sends more rockets to the lunar base. Asks Chan Santa Cruz if they would like to increase trade. Troops are stationed near the southern border to begin a path to Mexico City any minute now, with the military expanding. The remainder of Dinetan forces are stationed in Teec Nos Pos to prevent violence between nations. We ask all other Southwest League members to help us in our push south to Chan Santa Cruz. Elections begin, with the results being acquired in Q4 1988.

Texas halts deploying troops over to Italy until further investigations can be done. Despite record popularity, Muñiz has stated that he will not seek re-election this November, saying that he's done all that he needs to do. Carlos Truan appears to be the front runner for the Unionists. However, George H W Bush has gained much support for his actions in the Border Wars and Duke's Revolt. He's seen as a figurehead of a Republican Party coming back from the brink. The KNP, however, is in shambles after Duke's death. Texas also helps unite El Paso and Ciudad Juarez into a single protectorate known as 'Paso'. Order and stability is beginning to be restored in the city, and expansion into northern Chihuahua begins. Texas is very interested in purchasing the mist from the Commonwealth.

They are already united into El Paso del Norte.

Wu: Tractors are used in farming and massive water projects begin in the Yangtze River. 10,000 soldiers land in Hong Kong and begin building defences. Settlers arrive in the freed provinces. The army expands and builds up. Asks Italy for a meeting in Hong Kong.

Northern California: With the war over, Ronald Reagan, the chairman of the Transitional Committee, meets Bay Republic leader Virgil Baal (who survived the assassination attempt staged by radical northerners) in a state visit to Sacramento to discuss the formation of a UR-style federation. A plebiscite was held in Northern California whether the country should be renamed Jefferson. However, Prime Minister Manuel Perez dissolves the Transitional Council after the drafting of a new constitution was complete, and proclaimed the Third Republic of California, with Reagan as president. Perez remains as prime minister of the new republic. Asks mod for plebiscite results. An international tribunal convenes in Eureka to start the trials of the North Californian war criminals, as said in the Treaty of Sacramento, especially Louis Pittankel, who was sentenced to death by hanging, and Bill Edwards, who was sentenced to life imprisonment.

United Islamic Caliphate: A military build-up begins, but no official statement is given as to why. The benefits for Yemeni and Djibouti citizens that join the military increase three-fold, leading to a rise in recruitment numbers, and to the creation of two new divisions for the military, the 2nd United Infantry Division, and the 2nd United Armored Division. An ammunition factory is opened up by the government in Al Marweh, leading to the UIC to become a level 2.50 military power. Twenty more Saladin-1D Main Battle Tanks roll across the assembly lines, increasing their importance in the UIC military. (I decided pretty much last minute to go on a mission trip to Hayesville which is about 30 minutes away, from Sunday to today. That's why I haven't been posting, and my browser works perfectly now, it's Chrome :D.)
