The South African Empire, or simply South Africa, is a powerful state in the south of Africa.

Political structure[]

Co-Emperors[]

Initially after its federation, South Africa was ruled by only one, White monarch (First a high king until 1927, then an emperor). This changed in 1964, when as part of the South African Social Reform, the state became a dual monarchy; next to the pre-existing White monarch, the king of the Zulus became a federal monarch as well, representing the Blacks of South Africa. Both monarchs are referred to as Co-Emperors, are on completely equal footing with each other, and jointly represent South Africa.

The Co-Emperors and their closest families are:

  • Adriaan II Hanekom (b. 18 May, 1976), King of the Afrikaners and Archduke of the Anglo-South Africans. He is married to Co-Empress Linde Bosman (b. 1 December 1978); together, they have five children.
    • Crown Prince Thomas Hanekom (b. 28 January, 2002)
    • Princess Lauren Hanekom (b. 8 April, 2004)
    • Prince Sander Hanekomen (b. 9 October, 2005)
    • Princess Nina Hanekom (b. 16 August, 2006)
    • Princess Noor Hanekom (b. 22 November, 2008)
  • Misuzulu Sinqobile kaZwelithini (b. 23 September, 1974), King of the Zulu Nation. He is married to Co-Empress Ntokozo Mayisela. The couple has two sons*.

Ethnostates[]

The South African state is federated on the basis of ethnicity, with each major ethnic group being allocated their own state. Under the Equal Ethnicities Law, all ethnicities are allowed free habitation, meaning that while an ethnic state is often 'by' the ethnicity, it is not 'for' the ethnicity. The government encourages people of different ethnic groups to live across the country and not only in "their" state, and to culturally exchange.

States have been set up for Afrikaners, Zulu, Xhosa, Anglo-South Africans, Greek South Africans, Sesotho, Pedi, French Huguenots, Portuguese settlers, Cape Malays, Tsonga, Venda, Basters, Ovambo, Kavango and several others.

* Meta clarification: Misuzulu is a real person, not someone made up for the scenario, and he is the King of the Zulus in our real world, being recognized as such by the South African government. The names of his sons are not publicly released.
