The 1997 United Kingdom Leagues Cup, also known informally as the UKFA Cup, was the inaugural United Kingdom Leagues Cup played during the 1997-98 season.
The competition is notable for being the first time in which three teams from outside the English football league system reached the quarter-finals. Celtic lost to Leeds United, with Bierhoff scoring against his former team Celtic. Rangers lost to Wimbledon, while St Johnstone were eliminated by Middlesbrough.
