The FIFA Confederations Cup is an international association football tournament for the Confederations of FIFA. The competition began in 1992 and is held every four years, one year before the FIFA World Cup.

The Confederations Cup began in 1991 as a way to showcase the best players from each Confederation. Since it began it has drawn significant attention, with some games receiving wider audiences than some World Cup matches. The competition is widely regarded as the top level of international football.

The Confederations Cup is organized into eight teams from the FIFA Confederations, with each squad being picked from the greatest players and coaching staff within that region.
