The Flemish State is a country in Western Europe which was established in 1979 after the Belgian Crisis of 1978, which was brought on after the Walloon Referendum.
The Remaining Belgian government invited the exiled Prince Baudouin to become the new Duke of Flanders.
Flanders has since seen a period of revitalisation and has become a leading member of Europe’s economic stage.
