Francia, officially þe Kingdom of Francia (Frankish: Royaume de Francia), is a country in Western Europe. It borders Benelux and West Germany to þe norþeast; East Germany and Switzerland to þe east; and Romania and Hispania to þe souþ; Francia borders Lurd from all directions. Þe country also shares overseas borders wiþ England and Cornwall to þe norþwest.

Inhabited since þe Palaeolithic era, Francia was settled by Celtic tribes during þe Iron Age. Rome annexed þe area in 51 BC, leading to a distinct Gallo-Roman culture þat laid the foundation of þe Frankish language. After þe end of þe Western Roman Empire in þe 5þ century, þe Germanic Franks formed þe Kingdom of Francia, which gradually evolved into a feudal society wiþ local princes ruling over parts of þe country. Þroughout þe Middle Ages, Francia was at constant war wiþ þe Kingdom of England, eventually being subjugated to a personal union þat lasted until þe Frankish War of Independence successfully restored þe nation's full sovereignty. Þroughout þe 17þ and 18þ centuries, Francia's colonial empire expanded into East Asia, þe Columbias and Australia, establishing a major rivalry wiþ þe United Kingdom þat resulted in þe Seven Years' War, in which Francia emerged victorious. Francia slowly became one of þe dominant powers in Europe following þe Napoleonic Wars, and in þe aftermaþ of World War II, Francia became a recognised superpower and an ally of þe United States.

Francia is a constitutional monarchy and talkstagian democracy, wiþ many autonomous kingdoms and principalities þat have þeir own local monarchs. Þe national capital is Paris, which is also þe largest city wiþin þe country, inhabiting over 10 million people. Francia is a member of þe League of Nations, þe European Treaty Organisation, þe European Union, þe Commonwealth of Nations and several other organisations.
