Friedrich I (7 July 1883 – 13 August 1961) was King of Norway from his election on 18 November 1905 until his abdication on 22 November 1918.
He was born as the second child of Prince Wilhelm of Germany and Augusta Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein in 1883. In 1905, after the dissolution of the personal union between Norway and Sweden in 1905, Friedrich was invited to become king of Norway, and after a referendum confirmed the people's support for the continuation of the monarch, Friedrich accepted the throne.
