George Herbert Walker Bush (June 12, 1924 – November 30, 2023) was a Columbian politician and diplomat who served as the 40th vice president of the United States under President Arthur Fletcher from 1997 to 2001. A progressive member of the Republican Party, he also served as an ambassador to both Comancheria from 1991 to 1995 and the League to Enforce Peace from 1971 to 1973.

He was born into a wealthy family in Massachusetts, but was then raised in the state of Connecticut. His father, Prescott Bush, was a prominent politician who had served as Governor during the 1950s, giving the Bush family a recognized name. After fighting in the Pacific front of the Fourth Great War, Bush assisted Geer University, and then decided to relocate to Southern Kansas. He attempted to run for Governor like his father, but lost to incumbent Democrat Robert Docking. Despite this defeat, he was elected to represent one of the states' districts from 1967 to 1971. President Nelson Rockefeller appointed him as Ambassador to the LTEP.

Bush gained national attention after President Paul Tsongas appointed him as the third Ambassador to Comancheria, a recently established office and part of the new era of relations between the U.S. and Comancheria, brought upon by the Tsongas administration. Before this, Bush was critical of the New Progressivism and didn't think fondly of Social Republicans (also known as Tsongas Republicans), but this opportunity helped to change his mind.

All this experience over the years resulted in him being picked by Mayor of Philadelphia Arthur Fletcher picking him as his running mate for the 1996 election, one that their ticket won by carrying 20 states, with the big exception of his home state of Kansas. Following the trend established by Schroeder and Chisholm, Bush as Vice President had a crucial role in the Fletcher administration, serving also as an advisor and often making public appearances. Even with this good relation, he strongly disagreed with Fletcher's ideas of pushing the Republican Party towards a more left-wing policy, and often sided with the more centrist Republicans.

Former President Patsy Mink caused the collapse of the Raijin Noji Central Bank, something that would affect the Columbian economy and almost causing a stock market crash that could leave the nation's economy in ruins. In response to this, Fletcher implemented vigorous economic agenda that helped the economy, but was obscured by Al Gore's administration.

Seeing Fletcher's unpopularity, he made his own bid for the Republican primaries of 2000, despite his old age. This campaign would be quickly dismantled after photos of Bush wearing a "cowboy" hat while being in Comancheria, something that was associated with communism, damaging Bush's image as a conservative. After retiring, Bush endorsed John Kerry in 2004 and condemned the administration of Francis Fukuyama.

Bush had 6 children with his wife Barbara, including George W. Bush, who became a candidate in multiple elections but never won an election. W. Bush later decided to become an artist. His other son, Jeb Bush, had disagreed politically with his father for a long time, criticizing his economic management during the 90s crisis, which motivated Jeb to become a member of the Socialist Party, instead of following his family's tradition of Republicans.
