Georgia can refer to both the former sovereign nation in the Caucasus Region that was under the control of the Soviet Union during the Yellowstone Eruption, or the former United States state, located in the American South.

Georgia (US State)

After the eruption much of Georgia was occupied by the Provisional United States, and was designated as a military frontier. During Operation Southern Sunrise Georgia seceded from the union on March 30, 1940, officially declaring war on the United States. In 1941 the war ended as a decisive American victory, and Georgia was readmitted into the union as a state in 1943.
