The Great German Realm (German: Großes deutsches Reich) also known as the Third Reich (German: Drittes Reich) or Germany (German: Deutschland) is a country in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, as well as North America and eastern South America.
Germany is currently one of the world's largest-reigning superpowers, spanning 9 time zones. The impetus for the formation of the current German state was during World War II, when Adolf Hitler envisioned for a German domination of Europe and Eurasia, his lebensraum policies, successfully conquering Eastern and Southern Europe. However, after Hitler and Himmler's assassination in 1945, succeeding fuhrer Erwin von Witzleben allowed Germany to become a multi-ethnic empire.
In the 1980s, were a series of anti-Nazi revolutions led by Theodore Voigt, who proclaimed the idea of a "New Third Reich" resulted in the downing and ousting of the Nazi Party and radical reforms throughout the Reich. After becoming "fuhrer", Theodore Voigt began to un-do many of the racist policies set forth by previous fuhrers turning Germany into a progressive multi-ethnic empire.
After the collapse of the Japanese Empire in 1989, Germany became considered the paramount world superpower.
During the Second World War, Germany was able to conquer most of Western Europe, and after defeating the Soviet Union in Eastern Europe and the Caucusus, paved the way for Germany's rise to superpowerdom.
In the 1950s, Hitler began a rigorous attempt to update the German navy, wanting to combat the Japanese Empire's. However, Hitler and Himmer were both assassinated in 1953, and Erwin von Witzelben became Germany's new fuhrer. Witzelben ended Germany's war against the Soviet Union's former Central Asian and Siberian territories but continued the advancement of Germany's navy.
Witzelben used the former United Kingdom, now Britannien, as a naval base for Germany, incorporated the former British Royal Navy to become part of the Reich's navy.
In 1969, came the Hawaiian Missile Crisis, when it was revealed that Japanese forced had stationed Banzai missiles in Hawaii.
The 1980s was a period of liberalization in the German Reich. At the same times at the 60s of our OT and the growth of the hippy movement, came the Liberation Movement (Freiheitsbewegung), an anti-Nazi group calling for racial equality among the German Reich's non-German territories.
In 1989, came the downfall of the Nazi Party, and a new liberal government under Theodore Voigt, a former SS officer who witnessed atrocities of Slavs in Eastern Europe. This however, resulted in a significant loss of territories in Eastern Europe, resulting in a coup attempt against the liberal fuhrer by hardliner conservative Nazis, an attempt that failed miserably.
Fuhrer Voigt promoted the return of democracy and allowed the Reich's non-German territories to promote their respective native languages in public schools, alongside German. Judaism was no longer banned.
The Japanese Empire also collapsed, making Germany the sole superpower of the world with the New Imperium as the new complementary superpower.
In the 21st century, Germany becomes a bare reminiscent of the United States, a cocky military empire. Much like the way NATO usurped former Warsaw Pact states, the Axis would begin to absorb Asian states once part of Japan's military coalition. Japan, the New Imperium and the Far Eastern Republic take China and Russia's place as the next major powers wanting to overthrow Germany.
Germany currently has the world's largest economy, at DM11.5. It is a hub for high-end living, in almost all walks of life, be it military, technology, fashion, entertainment and etc.
Germany currently runs on a parliamentary democracy, headed by a President, Chancellor and Vice Chancellor. The Chancellor however, is considered the highest-ranking politician.
Germany is divided in 3 main global divisions. The Reich Kerland (literally "heartland"), which consists of Central Europe, the Reich Ostland - consisting of Eastern and Southeastern Europe, and the Großes Amerikanisches Reich, consisting most of the U.S. in our timeline, as well as the Großes Sudamerikanisches Reich consisting of South America.
Although German is the national language of the empire, the empire has a vast diversity of languages spoken. In North America, English is spoken, making it the second-most spoken language.
The Armed Forces of Germany (Bundeswehr), make up the nation's military, is considered the paramount military superpower of the world. It currently owns 603 bases in over 70 countries.
