The Governor of Carolina is the viceregal representative of the Queen of the Cygnians, Elizabeth, in the State of Carolina. The Governors of the 21 Cygnian states perform constitutional and ceremonial functions at the state level analogous to the monarch at the national level. The Governor is appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Premier of Carolina. The 81st and current Governor is Kim Beazley, who was appointed on the advice of Premier Mark McGowan. He was inaugurated on 1 May 2018, replacing Kerry Sanderson.
The office has its origin in the 17th–18th century colonial governors of Carolina upon its establishment by the British Empire in 1660. It remains the oldest continuous institution in Cygnia.
